DVC Sorcerer Annual Pass

I know this is an old thread but figured it was better than starting a new one. If we have Sorcerers Passes expiring at the end of Feb, do we have until Mar 30 to get the "renewal rate" and, if so, do the passes run from Mar 30 2025-Mar 29 2026 or would they be retroactively dated to start on old expiration day?

End of Feb is sort of vague. 30 calendar days from expiration is the rule. All renewals repeat as the same dates until they are allowed to expire without renewal. Yes. They stay the same date.

They will be backdated to the old expiration date so 2/26.

Thank you, that’s helpful. Due to holiday blackout dates, I think a renewal ends up being about $150 more expensive than buying two sets of park tickets for our upcoming trips…if we could have stretched it to late March, I might have taken a gamble of getting a Moonlight Magic weekend in late Feb/early Mar, but hard to justify given that I know we won’t be traveling before late Feb for sure.

I also assume there will be some sort of summer ticket discount deal, and if there isn’t, maybe we’ll just do more resort days.

Have you considered buying the 14 days UK ticket its only $585? <-- For some May dates, cheaper if you go in September and more expensive if you go at others.

Even though is supposed to be for Europeans I've read that many U.S citizens take advantage of the offer too. Disney does not check your address and you dont need to have the tix activated before entry.

You have to catch them on a sale to get them that low, but attractiontickets has sales regularly. There is one right now, for example.

For an extra 20 euro (or pounds sterling) they will be fully refundable. They also include photo pass and more or less unlimited water park and more visits. I wouldn’t make a big deal about them. Loose lips etc.

The Sorceror renewal is still cheaper of you know you’ll make two trips.

They are currently on sale until 31st of March, up to 20% off.

By my calculations and when I tend to go, I can buy tickets for two trips, within 12 months and still come out ahead vs a sorcerer pass.

I can't, but I probably go at more expensive times. The tickets for my upcoming trip come out to about $670 USD even with the 20% discount. A brand new Sorcerer is less than 2x that.

Interesting. Last time I tried to buy from Disney's non-US sites directly with a US address, they balked. Attraction Tix was more accommodating.

Still the case. A US billing address is not accepted by the IE site. Either way, it's about a wash. 630 Euro for my dates, which comes out to about $655 US. Attraction tix is within spitting distance of that.

Dang, but if attractiontickets works it’s nice. When I buy my tix I’ll consider a bridging it, cause it might squeeze in a 3rd trip within 12 months and then a pass make sense. Or maybe I should just buy the pass for starters.

This was my original thought as well, but one of our trips is the weekend after Thanksgiving so we’d have two block out days on the pass…which requires a very expensive (per day) 2 day ticket on top of the pass.

My Sorcerer pass expires in May. Is the 15% renewal discount off of the price I paid last year or off of the current list price?

15% off current new price. It will be effective on the renewal date. Take a look at when you will next use it, it might be better to buy new and get a later expiration date.

unless they pause sales and you can't get one... that's the new gamble...

As long as you all go within a year of buying the certificate, buying new today ensure you have it

But. You are right, if they pause sales before you even are ready to renew, renew becomes the only option!

That reminds me, I need to call and get my new one bought with points!!

I buy the new pass before the old expires. That also safeguards against a price increase. My last one expired 2/5/25, my next trip was 4/6/25. I bought a new one at the end of January. I’m planning a possible mid to late February trip next year so by buying new it will extend to that trip. Renewing would not.

This isn't necessarily true anymore. If you do not activate a new annual pass within one year of purchasing it you can only use the pass certificate as a credit towards the purchase of a new annual pass. Gone are they days of hoarding discounted passes to activate years later while locking in a lower price.

True…but if one knows that they will activate it within a year allows one to at least hold it that long!
