And that's why we can't have nice stuff anymore.I’ve read that the bed runner and decorative pillows tended to disappear mysteriously as time went on. Suspicion is that some of them went home in guests’ luggage. I’m not willing to subsidize their replacement via my dues - they’re high enough already.
It never crossed my mind to ever take those. like my TotW Lounge
Agreed, it is a good show. It's a good show anyway I think. People miss different things about the villas and want them back. I just happened to agree with all the points mentioned and then some.
I think the runners and pillows were just removed because of the extra sanitizing for COVID. Not that it is mostly gone perhaps they will be back.I’ve read that the bed runner and decorative pillows tended to disappear mysteriously as time went on. Maybe - but I think I remember reading posts complaining about their being missing prepandemic, as part of the “homogenization” of Disney resort decor. I could be wrong, though!I think the runners and pillows were just removed because of the extra sanitizing for COVID. Not that it is mostly gone perhaps they will be back.

I heard the same thing. In 2018, we were assigned a room with no pillows. It had some major maintenance problems so we were moved. However, I overheard the manager and front desk staff bemoaning the fact that pillows go home with guests as "souvenirs" they add in their own homes.I’ve read that the bed runner and decorative pillows tended to disappear mysteriously as time went on. When OKW first opened they had cloth placemats, cloth napkins and napkin rings. They sprouted legs and walked home with guests, and those that remained were removed.I’ve read that the bed runner and decorative pillows tended to disappear mysteriously as time went on. They can bring them back and charge the guest is something is missing at check out. Also selling those stuff at store at cheaper price than fee if stolen.
Or have a walk through with the owner before they check-in. And how many additional employees would that take, and what would that cost relative to any benefit to owners? Not that easy since the owner can say they weren’t there. You’d have to have an owner sign before hand or some sort of process.
Easier to simply leave out.
Just charge them and if the owner disputes it, you remove the charge. Not that difficult. It seems like every time I eat at the Boathouse, I get charged the no-show fee (yes, I check in when I arrive). When I call to dispute it, they don't ask for a receipt, they just remove the charge. Not that easy since the owner can say they weren’t there. Yes! I agree with offering items from the room for sale, maybe a little shop next to check in. There's a lamp we love at one particular resort that I've gone to the front desk and begged to buy. DH and I kid about "How can we sneak this out of here?", knowing that in reality we wouldn't. But how often would someone like a souvenir just like their villa? Also selling those stuff at the store at a cheaper price than fee if stolen.
