I was wondering how many points I would need for Dec 2003 from lets say Dec 9-16. Its 4 of us in our family and I want to enjoy our first trip to WDW. Which DVC resort is best for twin 6 year old boys and their parents?? Help me please.

The number of points (checking in on 12/9/03 and checking out on 12/16/03) will vary depending on the resort and the size of accomodations. Studios will go from 80 points at OKW, to 85 at BWV (standard view), to 104 at BWV (preferred view), VWL or BCV. One bedrooms will go from 162 at OKW to 164 at BWV (standard view) to 202 at BWV (preferred view), VWL or BCV.

IMHO, any of the DVC resorts would be a good place to spend a first trip at WDW. If the boys like to swim, I'd recommend BCV (for access to Storm-ALong-Bay). However, the weather in mid-December may not be the best for swimming. If you think you will be spending most of yor time at the MK, I'd go to VWL. BCV & BWV are very convenient to EPCOT and MGM and on site dining choices. OKW costs the least amount of points, has larger rooms (especially if you will be getting a 1 bedroom) and very convenient parking.

It won't be easy to decide. Have fun planning!

I would also say VWL. The Wilderness theme and the closeness to MK is superb for twin 6 year old boys. If the weather is good, they have a fun pool also and the geiser is fun to watch. They'll love the Whispering Canyon Cafe with all the whooping and hollering and the Lincoln Logs in the entryway to play with.

My 2 cents.... I would base the decision on themeing. I wouldn't choose to stay at VWL if it were a 2 minute walk to Magic Kingdom just because I am not a dark decor, woodsy, outdoor type of person. Some people love this type of theming, its just not for me. BWV, BCV and OKW all have a brighter themeing. OKW is quiet and on a golf course, all the villas are in seperate buildings with their own entrances and some can be quite a distance from the main check-in building. BWV and BCV (as well as WLV) are all in deluxe resort type hallway buildings. BWV and BCV is within walking distance to each other. BWV is a bit busier then BCV since is is right on the Boardwalk. My personal favorite is BCV since it has the brighter decor and it is a bit quieter but still within walking distance to Epcot, Boardwalk and MGM. (Just want to reiterate these are all my opinions)

After you choose which theme you prefer then you need to decide what type of accomidations you want. A studio sleeps up to 4 and is a bit bigger then a regular deluxe resort room with a mini fridge and a microwave. A 1 bedroom also sleeps up to 4 has a master bedroom with king size bed and jacuzzi tub and a second room with a pull-out couch living room area, kitchen with stove, fridge, micro, and dishwasher and also a stackable washer and dryer. If you really want to spluge you can get a 2 bedroom which is like a one bedroom but with another room attached that has 2 beds in it, this way the kids don't have to sleep on the pull out in the living room. (This is what we do, we have a 6 year old son and a 5 year old daughter)
