DVC Response About Ebay Commercial Sellers

I just did an ebay search and I can only find one DVC vacation auction. Just wondering if I'm just not typing in the right sort of search expression or if all but one of the DVC vacation auctions are gone from ebay? By the way, the only one I did find is the one that rinkwide likes to quote from...

I just searched and found three...but that is a lot less than what was up there (but, hey....smw had about 10 all by herself).

It does make me wonder if DVC made a few phone calls today? Either to ebay or their respective owners. Kind of like Southwest airlines nixed the selling of rapid rewards passes.

I was watching about 12 this morning including 8 by smw.
She ended hers early without selling.

I am still watching 3 including the one rinkwide likes to quote.

One ends in about 20 minutes, one in a few hours, and the other one in just over a day.

I have not found anymore either.

I think maybe Jay was really onto something.

I wonder if ebay is accepting any new DVC auctions anymore.

Time will tell.

Can you imagine the stack of blue member cards they must have to go through? Looks like many if not most of the purchases are through re-sale. Do you think DVC will allow them to sell or can they put a hold on all these contracts and make them so that they cannot be re-sold or used?

I was wondering what the family's total dues bill must be. Yikes!

ETA: I've done a bit more searching on ebay and there are still a few DVC vacation auctions out there. But I don't see as many as I did last time I checked which was some time last week.

Our friends boardwalkmagic and disdvcer still have a couple going.

Yeah but that's nothing if Disney can take or hold the properties. There's got to be several millions of dollars tied up in this operation. I would imagine that Disney would probably allow them to sell. If you've got this much money you've probably got a lawyer or two :).

He needs to update his FAQ where it says he will give the renter the 800# for MS so they can call to confirm.

I can see it now......

"Dear Win and Linda, I hereby revoke your right to any pixie dust and proclaim you extremely lame in the eyes of DISers everywhere."

Everyone should email him wishing Disney would shut him down for good....

Or, everyone should email Disney asking them to shut him down.

My guess is that someone must have complained to Disney and complained that they were not following their own rules. I would think that it someone was on a waitlist and brought to Disney attention that a commercial renter had that week tied up, Disney would need to do something. It is one thing for Disney to go after everyone, but it is probably another when members bring it to their attention.

I am not a lawyer and maybe one could comment, but if this situation was brought to the attention of Disney, would Disney not have to do due dilligence?

OMG!!! Click on the tab that says 'Rooms' at the top, then click on the url's.

He has the nerve to link directly to the DVC website!!!!

Oh if I was Disney I'd be HOT about that! Isn't there something they can do about that? It makes it look like he's affiliated directly with Disney!

And here we thought they were buying up massive amounts of points and transferring them into their account. Between these two members (and their respective "family") they could book BCV solid for the month of Dec.

Excuse me, they were buying up massive amounts of points, just not the fire sale type for a one time basis.

I am wondering if this was brought up at the condo association meetings. If they are held like mine are here, there is an open forum. Also members are allowed to have a subject added to the agenda at board meetings of the association I believe.

From the information being posted in this thread, I'd say it's fair to conclude that the Point Morphing And Commercial Renting In Five Easy Steps graduates are more numerous than anyone imagined.

However, I'm not comfortable with the direction this thread appears to be headed. I will just add that in my opinion, there is NO way I believe Disney could not have had some idea this was all going on and who the major players are and I'm hoping they have begun the process of dealing with it.

I mean, with the sheer number of reservations that are apparently being made on these people's membership on a daily basis, everyone in MS must not only know them by name, but can recognize their voices and recite their member ID from memory by now.

I respectfully suggest we allow Disney to handle this. You know by now they have read all about it anyway, and even if they haven't, I'm pretty sure there have been plenty of folks who have reported it.

I really suggest if you feel you must do something that you simply contact Disney rather than send lots of emails. Outside of making YOU look like a stalker/harasser all the commercial renter has to do is block your email address. If you call them, they simply have to get you phone number and record the call to report you to the phone company.

This is a civil matter and should be handled that way, not some sort of wild west vigilante justice.

WOW he's getting about $14-$16 per point and even quotes your savings over Disney.

AAA can't give you those rates no wonder they are popular and have many repeat customers.

Thats another great dig-up Lets just see what happens to this one.

Who's next.

Maybe a Google search of DVC web-sights instead of just E-bay.
