dvc resorts and princess half marathon

For the February princess half marathon and family 5K events which start at Epcot, can you walk from BCV or BWV thru international gateway and get to the starting area? It looks like the host villa resorts are SSR and AKV and these have busses providing event transportation, but I was wondering if anyone knew if they open up IG early for runners staying in EPCOT area resorts to walk to event. My gut is telling me no. We did the F&W 1/2 and were not staying at a host resort. We were able to take a bus to Epcot and the busses to espn, where that race starts. If the princess starts early in the morning, your best option is a cab. We used cabs twice, and both rides were $20 with tip. Well worth it!

Good luck with race. I would love to do it, but I ran the 1/2 with DH and my girlfriends will not run a 1/2.

Thanks for sharing! I'm planning on running the F&W this year, and was wondering the same thing.

You need a ticket to go through Epcot and the park has to be open.

So if your race starts in the Epcot parking lot, you'll have to drive, take a cab or see if Disney offers transportation to the start.

You can't get thru Epcot that early. We are booked at AKL so we can use the Disney transportation!
