DVC Resort stay/no magic band/what do we need?

Hi there,

Hopefully, someone will be able to advise and ease my confusion. First time visit. We are renting DVC points and staying at Beach Club. We will arrive early off a cruise and we do not have a magic band. Last week I ordered the tickets and they will arrive as a paper ticket as my son wanted to keep them as a souvenir. I have downloaded the app and can see the hotel reservation showing there.

Where I am stuck is in how I access my room and the parks. I am reading about magic band and reading about the app but only getting more confused. English is not my native language and a lot of the terms make it hard to comprehend and drive me loopy and I haven't even begun to digest Disney Genie and lightning pass and all this as until recently we thought the border wouldn't be open and were waiting for cancellation

Can I use app for the room door and do I have to check-in at desk at all? When we arrive on Disney cruise bus where do I go? I see blue building [main] and green [DVC] Will doormen at the blue building take care of our luggage, would we visit the desk in the blue building or should we be going immediately to the green building, is that even staffed with desk etc..

And then paper ticket for the park, will this suffice, or do I need to also get the ticket onto the app. Or do we need magic bands?

And finally how do we pay in the parks for merchandise and food. Credit card okay? Or I need to link cards to app.

Sorry for many questions, I hope you can understand. I feel if I can have a mental breakthrough and understand this I can move to the fun part of the planning. My son was a student living home when we booked in 2018 for 2020. He is now a young man with a job and a partner so this is likely our last trip together and I'd like to savor it without any stresses.

Put the tickets in asap so you can book Park reservation for your days. You can open the door with the app or go to the desk and get keys. On the app you can even load the tickets and use apple pay or google pay to use to tap into the parks.

You'll be fine without MBs.

The Disney Cruise bus will drop you off at the entrance to the main BC building (the blue building), and you can go to the front desk to get key cards for the room door - we tried using our phones to open our resort door in June, but it didn't work very well at all. Bell Services will be at the front to help with your luggage and bring it to your room. If your room isn't ready yet, Bell Services will store your luggage, and when you get into your room you can call for them to bring it up. It's customary to tip $1-2 per bag when they deliver them to your room.

The paper ticket for the park should actually be a plastic card like a credit card (if not, you can get a plastic card the first time you enter a park) and will get you into the parks and also be used to enter the Lightning Lanes (if you decide to pay for Genie+ or any Individual Lightning Lane rides - you will do buy them via the MDE app on your phone). Credit cards are fine for charging merchandise and food in the parks (and outside of them too), or you can use your room key to charge to your account at the hotel. Or you can use Apple Pay or Google Pay on your phone, if you like.

I haven't used Genie+ yet, so I'll let you read the various threads about it. There are links to online videos that might be helpful for you.

Go to the front desk to check in and you'll get plain old room keys like any hotel.

They will give you a key. I forgot to order my guests MB because I thought I had done it last year before our trip got canceled when resorts closed.

They keys were cute as they had a character on them so it was a nice thing for them! Just go to desk when you get there and tell them you need them!

As stated above they will give you a card to access your room. You can also use your my Disney experience app. That will also allow you to access your room and enter the parks.
