I'm having a hard time understanding UY. If I want to go every year in December to my home resort, what UY would I need? Also, can you buy it on a CC. I have a 15 month 0% promo i would also get cash back for.

I know at least one broker who will take CC if u pay the CC charges .. around 3%.. but not many will.

If u go every year, Dec would be the UY to get, but I would not worry much about the UY.. with banking and borrowing, it kinda levels off after the first year.

Most title companies won't take CC, but there are loans out there for around 6% if you need it. But best to buy with cash.

We like our Oct UY, best for vacations between Oct and June, the cooler months at WDW.

Have you read Understanding UY? http://www.disboards.com/threads/understanding-use-year-updated-april-27-2016.1942668/

Simple run down - any UY can go anytime. The difference can just be what year of points you will be using as banked, current or borrowed. Where having the "best" UY has some importance is as a kind of free insurance should you ever have a last minute cancellation. It helps to have a UY that starts just prior to your intended time of travel, so if you plan to always go in December then a Dec UY is best and Oct would be next best, however as I mentioned any UY will allow you to go in Dec.

Most you can only pay the deposit with (up to $2000) then you will have to pay via a bank transfer!

I would recommend against the CC other than maybe the deposits anyway. If you consistently go in Dec (and don't start in Nov) then Dec is the best UY by far. If you might start in Nov then I'd get one as close to that date as you can. IMO UY can have a value as much as a years worth of points or more and where it doesn't, those people are taking more risk all the time anyway.

i second reading the UY thread linked above.

the big thing that confuses people is that UY month has nothing to do with when you call to book. UY is about what dates you are staying.
