DVC resale points

When DVc buys back a contract do they resell it as it was originally purchased or just throw them into inventory so people can buy what they want, with varied UY's???
would like to have some BW or BC point for F+W.

My understanding is that the UY must remain the same (and the resort obviously), but from there they can break them down any way they want. Meaning if they buy back an BCV contract with 275 points on an October UY, they can sell that as eleven 25 point BCV Oct. UY contracts, or any other combination you can think of, as long as the resort and UY stay the same.

Thats correct...the UY and resort stay the same but the points simply go into DVC inventory to be resold in any way in which they want. Since DVC is buying back their own contract, the contract itself is terminated.

I asked a similiar question sometime back but addressing the issue of whether DVC cared whether a contract was stripped or loaded of points as far as whether to exercise ROFR or not, and the response was that they don't care...it all goes back into the inventory as points.

One thing that I did not realize until after I talked to my guide is that they can not combine two different buildings into one contract. For example if you want 200 June points and they have 75 June points for building 4 and 125 June points for building 6 then they will need to issue two contracts. I just never thought of this.

I don't get this either. The number of nights and units is defined. I know that DVC had "developer" points, but those surely must be a finite number. How can they just "fill up" stripped contracts without there eventually becoming a problem of more points outstanding than available nights/units? It certainly seems that this could make for a harder time getting reservations, and how would all of us owners ever know? I guess they must count on some people letting points go to waste.
