We submitted a request on last week on thanksgiving for a trip in xxxxxx with DVC Rental store and still waiting for a confirmation. I was reading another post from someone this past august and it said that if you're 7 months out or less that they only pay $13 a point so hard pressed for someone to take the rental. My question is do you think we should cancel it and go another route on booking since it probably wont get picked up? TIA

Looks like they're currently paying $15/point for reservations 7 months out or less. So, only $1 less pay out than dvcequest.com for same time period. What room are you trying to rent? That is probably a bigger factor in how long I'd give it for someone to claim it. I'd probably give it at least a few days this week - I suspect most owners looking to rent out points probably weren't paying much attention over the Thanksgiving holidays. And, as Christmas is approaching, there may be some owners looking to pick up some quick cash by renting their points. Just some thoughts.

If you use either the rental forum here or a Facebook group you might see better availability for your dates.
Many owners don’t want to use a service who only pays them $15 per point if they can do it themselves and get more.

Interestingly enough, I put some BLT points for rent on davids weeks ago and I never heard anything back. As an owner selling points, I love the way dvc rental store does things more and as a renter i prefer David's.

DVC rental store let's owner easily browse to see what renters want and then select a request right away To book. As soon as I listed points, I found someone that wanted a reservation around the same points I wanted to sell. I got the money in two days in my bank account. I was impressed with the service and would do it again. I would patiently wait if I was you.

There were a few different requests for my resorts, but owners are looking for requests of the specific amount of points they are looking to rent or as near as possible. A lot of people will take the $15 over renting themselves.

Dates of travel were removed as we don’t allow it. Honestly, it really just depends on whether they have owners and how long you want to wait.

Also, please report any PM you might get from someone offering to help you.

We were trying for BLT with 2 studio rooms. Preferred was only option available on their calendar

If you look there, you can see how much competition there generally is for those rooms at the 7-month, 5-month, 3-month, and 1-month marks. So, making sure we don't discuss specific dates, you can get a sense of how fast different dates book up. Outside of Oct-Dec, they look to me like they are pretty widely available at the 7-month mark and then start to slowly flll up. So, I'd say if someone were early in the 7-11 month window or early in the 5-7-month window, I wouldn't worry to much, but if they were rooms available and you're closer to the 5-month mark, you would probably worry more about those booking up quickly.

I'd give it about 10 days. Is that what they recommend? If you are anxious to get it booked, you can rent from an owner on this website. Just make sure you are working with someone who has been around for a long time. You can see their posting history and see how often they have rented by clicking through their profile.

If you want to rent from a broker for ability to change reservation later, or other reasons, I'd let it ride. I'd book a cash stay through Disney to make sure I have the dates I need and then cancel it when the DVC rental comes through. Most DVC owners are not on this website and many have been renting through that broker for many years. They are probably fine with the lower payout.
