How can I find out more info on DVC?

I must be missing something, because I don't see how it is affordable. :confused3

Thanks for the help! :)

There's a great FAQ right here on the DIS:

DVC Frequently Asked Questions

After you've read the FAQ, come on over to the DVC-Operations forum and ask all the questions you'd like!

Briefly, though, the DVC is 'worth it' if you plan to stay on property at least once every two years, and if you're comparing the value to a stay in moderate or deluxe resorts. I've had it for almost 5 years now, and I figure I'll break even in another trip or two.

Your one time payment, then pays for all subsequent vacation accommodations for the next 50 years. It is a fabulous plan, and I urge you to find out more about it for yourself by going on a tour at WDW. Its great, and you get free ice cream at the end!

Just to clarify, you don't get 50 years. The 50 years begins when the initial resort opened.

The expiration dates are fixed. The first phase resorts all expire on Jan 31, 2042 so if you purchased there today(via resale for example), you'd get basically 35 years, 8-months.

If you purchase phase 2 (SSR) today, the contracts expire Jan 31, 2054, so you'd basically get 47 years, 8-months.

It depends on how you'd use it and what your trips would be like without it. DVC is only worth if financially if you'd stay on property in a Moderate or higher and use the points for DVC only light or neutral for weekends. There is no other scenario where you can justify the purchase from a cost standpoint. Even then DVC will not likely save you money as you'll be more apt to take more trips. And lets face it, a Disney stay even with free room is expensive.
