DVC Question Help Please!

I have been reserching this and keep getting conflicting information. Do you have to pay closing costs when buying into DVC or no???? And if so approx how much???I am from Canada and DVC said they are not allowed to give out info unless I am there in person. Thank you so much!

No closing costs are charged when you purchase directly from Disney.

Yes, you need to pay closing costs on the initial purchase from DVC but not on any add on's thereafter.
We bought in July and that's what we were advised and we certainly did pay closing costs although it wasn't a lot of money.

We are in the process of purchasing SSR and yes there are closing costs.

When I bough in March, 150 points @ SSR, there was about $125 in closing cost. When I added on @ AKV in June, no closing costs.

Yes, there are closing costs on the initial contract. No closing costs to add on points later on.

The confusion is because there was a change in policy a while ago.

For many years, new members did not have to pay closing on their initial contracts. That has changed, and you will pay closing on your purchase whether you buy through Disney or resale...though I think Disney does absorb part of it, so it is a reduced cost vs. resale.

After you are a member, there currently are no closing costs if you wish to add-on to your membership through Disney.
