DVC Purchase Directly through Disney Timeline

Hi all, here is my timeline for purchasing 200pts at VGF directly through Disney. I wanted to share this as I see lots of timeline information for resales but not that much for direct purchases. If there's already a thread out there, sorry for the additional one!

We did the DVC tour while in WDW on August 21st and decided we wanted to buy 200pts at VGF. We are financing through Disney

Sept. 3rd - Called DVC to start the application process and put 1/2 our deposit down

Sept. 5th - DVC Packet arrived, estimated closing date of Oct. 13th

Sept. 6th - Called quality control line to confirm packet arrived

Sept. 9th - Got the mortgage paperwork notarized

Sept. 9th - Dropped pre-paid packet off at FedEx

Sept. 10th - Delivery confirmation, packaged delivered to Disney at 10:11am

Sept. 18th - Confirmation of financing approval letter received in mail (letter was dated September 11th)

Oct. 3rd - Second 1/2 of DVC deposit taken from credit card

Oct. 4th - CLOSED!!!

I don't really understand why anyone cares about a timeline other than being able to use the points for a reservation.

Buying direct were you not able to book a reservation a couple of days after giving the a deposit? Several years ago we made our first direct buy reservation before we left the sales office.

When I was starting the process, I was very curious about how long the process took, start to finish and it was hard to find info on that for direct purchases.

When I searched for people's timelines I could only find resales, which was informative but not directly related to my situation.

So I thought I'd share our timeline for anyone else who was curious as well.
