Someone was telling me that SSR is supposed to go to $100 or something by the end of the year. Is that true? I was trying to get my guide to confirm but he was not around.

Anyone else heard anything like this?

TTS just sold one of my contracts and now I am thinking I should hold off on selling others until the price goes higher.

Thanks

Interesting rumor that I haven't heard yet. Can you say who told you this? If not, how reliable on this type of info is she/he?

I think the price will rise to the level that people are willing to pay....capitalism at its finest and ugliest.

I can't say from whom, but she is definitely a reliable source for my other purposes. This is just a rumor she has heard from others. I know the points are now all at $89, so $100 is not that far fetched. But I just have never heard anything this specific until now.

I heard a similar thought from one of the DVC cast members at the kiosk at DTD in March, that the way SSR was selling and the $95/point already announced, she wouldn't be surprised to SSR be $100/point by December.

Whatever the market will bear, I guess. I wouldn't be surprised to see them raise it to $100 -- it's a $5 jump that seems to be the new norm with DVC. The only problem will be the psychological impact of a 3-digit price. That may have them thinking hard about the timing of that jump.

Didn't the "old" DVC's just go up in price, too? Is that the $89?

Pam, yes, Disney just announced early last week that the price for sold-out resorts increased to $89 pp effective immediately.
:o :o :o :o

Boy oh boy am I glad we bought when we did. Of course, I am sure people who bought long before me are some of the happiest people in the world now knowing they got a deal compared to what prices are now...smjj

a cast member told me, that SSRS was going to $100 per point by 01/01/2005.

I cannot confirm this person is 100% correct, only that she said her sources were DVC guides.

If the first 6 out resorts, are now at $89 per point, would $100 per point for SSRS, be out of line??

Yikes!, and we were moaning about it going from $62.50/point on our first contract to $65/point on our second!

At the rate prices are rising, it ought to reach $100 by the end of the month.

I'm so glad we just bought SSR at $85 pp! We took the $10 credit pp since we knew we wouldn't get back until next fall. Wait 'til I tell DH!

What is "ugly" about DVC prices rising to market levels?

You know -- it's like the term 'filthy rich.' If someone has more money than others think they should have, then there's something dirty about it.

Eventually they'll have to cross that 3-digit threshold, but maybe not this time. There would be some logic behind an increase from $95 to $99, rather than going all the way to $100.

Or, perhaps $99.99. ;)

christine

why would you sell your Beach club villa points now?
if DVC II/SSRS or futur resorts go to $120 per point by end of decade.

I have thoughts that DVC I/the first 6 sold out Resorts, could have a DVC retail price of $110 per point,by the end of the decade.

Between now and the end of the decade, you can enjoy BCV points or rent out very easily.

When is it going to $95 per point? I didn't hear that one!

SSR is already at $95 pp. We took the $10 pp credit instead of the developers points or else we would have been paying $95pp.

Boy, our OKW contract in the mid 50's is looking better all the time!
