I'm not sure if this is the right place for this but... On our upcoming trip in May :cool1: I'm interested in going to a dvc presentation as I'm seriously considering investing in a membership. I'll have my 2 children with me. Can they go to the presentation with me? They're not old enough to leave alone. Also, I heard from a friend that you sometimes get fast passes at the presentation. Does anyone know how many? And that's not the reason I want to go the presentation even though I know of some people who have gone just for that.

We did our presentation at BLT and they have a place there for the kids to go. Although, if they have to use the bathroom, they won't take them, they'll call you to come take them. As soon as my DS figured that out, he kept saying he had to go potty every 5 minutes. He was just being potty trained. Anyway, disaster. But yes, they usually do have a place for the kids to go to be babysat, or you can keep them with you.

Don't know about FP. We got FP, but we also bought. So don't know if that's only if you buy, or just incentive to get you to listen to the sales pitch.

We went at Boardwalk, and my kids loved it! We didn't buy that trip, but did buy on our cruise, and are going to Boardwalk Villas for the first time in Nov. My Ds, who is 13 now was all excited because he thought that meant he could go play there again. Poor kid was bummed when I told him that it was only for people at DVC presentations, and probably also for kids under 12. I'm not sure about the fastpasses, as I think the offerings change, If I remember correctly, we got a gift card for attending.

I know they do different promotions from time to time -- sometimes they give you fastpasses, sometimes they give you disney gift cards, sometimes they give you a choice, etc., so I imagine it will just depend upon what they are running when you're there.

If you're staying at a Deluxe resort, make sure you book your tour at the kiosk there -- our guide indicated that the incentives are better there, because they assume people that stay at Deluxes are a better fit for the program and are more likely to buy.

thanks for all your answers. I'm excited but I'm afraid I won't be able to stop myself from buying!!:goodvibes

Compare prices for direct from Disney and resale and you might be able to stop yourself from buying direct. Find out more before you go.

Don't know how to word this but if you have a partner, Disney will want both to attend the sales presentation.

When we went in 07, we, the kids were babysat (they had a great time) and each family member got a 20 dollar Disney gift certificate. We bought a year later.

I did stand in line for a ride with a lady who was a member and she did get fast passes by 'visiting' and asking her guide for the fast passes. Me, I don't want to waste the time on a bus to get to my guide to get a couple of passes. But, if you are going to the presentation, can't hurt to ask.

We went in 2006 and the kids were in a supervised play room.

We made the decision that no matter what we felt or thought we were not going to allow ourselves to buy on the day. We wanted to make a rational decision not an impulse one so we gathered the information, took the guides name and took it home to think about. We kenw we could actually make the purchase from home and we fully intended to. It took us until 2012 to finally make the decision to join but thats only because life threw us a few curve balls along the way. What this meant for us was that when we finally did buy in wew ere sure we were doing somthing we really wanted to and have had no regrets or second thoughts. If we had bought on impulse we might have had.
