Content waiting for the DVC POLY. Congrats to the new VGF owners. I hope it is not long until we are neighbors.

We just bought in to DVC at the GF (Or will when 6/19 rolls around and our paperwork can be filed!) but my husband and I are fully intending to purchase an add on at the Poly to double our points as soon as it's available!

Though the pictures at GFV are sooo tempting, I'm holding out for Poly. Currently on the wait list for HHI at the old price, so my addonitis hasn't flared up again. I really want to own at Poly as it's my favorite resort. No DGD or DGS in the picture yet and that's where I would want to bring them, so I can hold out a little longer;)

Doing our VGF add on this week and can't wait to be a Poly owner in a few years too.

We own at SSR, then added on to our SSR 2 yrs ago, definately holding out for the hopes of Poly!!! GF is too ornate for my taste (heavy drapery, Victorian styling), not my thing. Poly is where I stayed as a kid, & would live to be able to stay there w/my kiddos as a DVC member

I do think if its for real, we are at least a year or 2 away from an official announcement.

I'm really trying to decide if we should just buy a few more BLT points and then be done or hold out for the Poly. As you can see by my sidebar, I promised to wait for the Poly but I'm not terribly patient! :)

I KNOW that if we say we are done after one more BLT point purchase, we will totally cave once the Poly opens and buy 100 points there so I think we'll have to hold off on the BLT purchase (if we can!)

We will be buying as well. I agree that it will most likely be a year or 2 before the announcement and then take a couple more years after that before it goes on sale... In my book that's ok because by the time we can buy at the poly my BLT loans should be paid off... Yay;)

That's kind of how I am thinking . If its on sale in 3-5 years might be perfect timing on expiring loans I currently have should be long paid . I am quite worried if the point charts look similar to VGF and the potential point price could be ridiculous in 3-5 years . But if the point charts look closer to BLT , and price per point is around the $150-$180 range . I would buy .

I thought about that too and I am going to assume that the points would be comparable to VGF... BUT... I would end up going every other year so basically I would use 2 years worth of points to stay at the poly every other year and use 2 years of BLT points on the opposite year or do BLT every year... Soo many possibilities, but yeah the poly would probably be no more than every other year if its similar to VGF. I have also thought about buying an extra 50-100 BLT points and calling it a day... So we shall see :)

Exactly what I was thinking I have 100 SSR I am thinking of adding 30-35 points cause I want to be able to go ever 2 years in a 1br since I just stayed at V1BR at AKV and not sure I ever want to be in a studio lol. I figure every 2years is good for a Disney trip since its quite expensive . Do smaller cash trips in between . I feel I'll be in a better stop 3-5 years from now and probably won't mind dropping $15-18k to get in on that resort .

Also seems that poly will be in very high demand so I doubt 7 month reservations will be easy to get may be worth getting in on the poly sales early at the lowest prices. I guess only time will tell . I'd also need some more vacation time if I add 100 + points

If Poly follows the trend of BLT to VGF, then DVC has really priced us out of the new resort add-on process. BLT was on the edge for us but we understood its location would demand a premium. But that premium continues to escalate ridiculously.

If Poly is at or worse than VGF, we'll just stick with where we are at BLT. BLT is the most covenient of the 3. VGF forces you to bus, boar or monorail everywhere. Poly is walking distance to TTC at least, so I'd say they're 2nd to BLT's easy access to MK and the MK bus stops.

It's really hard to pay $160+ per point and then have to dish out 17+ points per night even in the slowest of seasons.

But... then it will be for sale..."fortunately" my wife is not the DVC fan and does not support adding more points in any circumstance.

I'd like to think that VGF is there signature resort and that's the reason the points are so high per night , and that the next resort will be significantly lower point charts . I'd say somewhere slightly above BLT .

I agree if you follow the trend they aren't going to reduce anything only add , and the fact it seems this will be the most in demand DVC site is probably not going to help

I'm not sure if we'll do any more add ons...I think we may be maxxed out...but if we did, I would definitely consider a small contract at the Poly DVC. ::yes:: If money, or maintenance fees, were not an issue, I'd be there in a heartbeat!!! :goodvibes

I have been in the market since late last year for add-ons. We only have 170 points since we bought for a 1 BR EOY in Magic Season. We have stretched those points so far by going on the other 2 lower seasons.

However, we will be outgrowing the 1 BR in a year (2014 being our last year in a 1 BR) so we now need more points for a 2BR. My attempt to add 150 @ OKW was ROFRd. I have 2 years to see if staying at Bonnet Creek will be good enough for us. If not, an add on at Poly for another 150 or so will probably be in the works. By then, I will probably have a better idea how easy or difficult it is to exchange into DVC from RCI.

So we definitely need to add -- but I have time to decide so am not in a hurry.

I would definitely be an owner, even if it's only a small add on. A couple of nights at Poly would be better than no nights at all! It has always been my favorite resort. I stayed there once as a kid and it was the ultimate. :)

Funny how that childhood experience impacts our adult decision making. I had the same experience staying at the Contemporary. I remember it being the first hotel that I'd ever seen with keycards instead of keys. But, then, it was a "punch" card (a big plastic keycard with holes in it like the old data cards of the 70's).

Best hotel stay ever. 24 hour arcade, counter service pizza, etc. It was the first trip I was able to go off and do my own thing with a friend and not have to stay with parents. Long days, no sleep. Parks all day, hotel activities until 1-2am... I can't even fathom doing something like that anymore... :crazy2:

We own at BLT and have no shame about my "man crush" on a hotel :thumbsup2

Glad you're able to own at your favorite place! You're right, there is a lot of emotional influence there. Having home resort advantage would just be a bonus. :goodvibes

Poly is the only resort that is as much a part of our trip as the parks. We must visit every single time, whether it be for a meal, boat rentals or just to walk around and enjoy. I don't think it's too much of a stretch to say owning there would be a pure joy! :lovestruc

Gee with VGF being touted as being so small and very much in demand, maybe I should buy those now, hold them (and use them) until the Poly is built, then sell them at a huge profit and use that to buy the Poly points! :rotfl2:
