Hi! DH, DS and I are considering the December 16, 2006 cruise, which is a 10 day...great! We are thinking about using our points for this, which means we would either have to borrow from the 2007 use year or pay for the third person. Another possibility is that we might ask my dad to go along since he was a bit put out after we told him we might need him to go along on the first cruise then didn't. So, if that would happen, our party of 4 would go with 2 staterooms.

I suspect this is a popular cruise given it has a special itinerary and from what I read in the DVC book, we still can't book it till 11 months out. Anyone know about this? Or how we could secure the room earlier and still use our points?

I'm still so new with this since we only bought our DVC last Thanksgiving and we've not used it for a cruise, but now that we are I need any help the wise ol' DIS DVC family can give me...anything you might be able to share with me would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

If you book a cruise for points, the earliest you can do so is 11 months prior to departure. No way to secure it earlier than that unless you pay cash and book it with DCL or a TA.

If a particular cabin (or even being able to book this specific cruise) is very important to you, consider booking it for cash now. If necessary, you could rent your points (or arrange to transfer them to another member) to pay for the cruise. If you are willing to do the work to rent/transfer, it will pay off economically as well as in other ways. For example, you could book and reserve your cabin(s) now when there is a greater selection. You will also have a much more lenient cancellation policy with cash.

That cruise sounds like fun!

Best wishes-
