What do you guys think if I transfer AKV points now to BLT and then when my SSR finalizes do you think they will have mercy to let me transfer 9 SSR points into one of them because I didn't have that contract before to transfer into one of them

I probably wouldn't risk it. They might but they will always notate exceptions made for you and in the future you may really really need an extra transfer and be told no because they have made an exception in the past and were told it was one time only.

I have noticed that they definetely notate everything and go back and look at other notes to make sure you're not lying

Remember you are not transferring points into a contract but into a membership. A membership can hold multiple contracts. If you only have 1 membership (UY) then you can’t do any internal transfers between your own memberships as you only have 1. However you can get an external transfer from another member.

Remember you are not transferring points into a contract but into a membership. A membership can hold multiple contracts. I am so over having 2 memberships and 7 or maybe 8 different contracts. It is so confusing. Just give it to me like a trust put it all in one big pool

It gets annoying when you want to make changes.

For example once my waitlists go thru (if they do) I want to try to change my poly og reservation and my family's seperate reservation into one 2 bedroom pit theme park view.

I need to waitlist this of course but I don't have enough points if I don't transfer from one contract to the other. Thats all fine and good except SSR is sailing thru a month later and I will have 9 random banked points in SSR expiring in February.

This is going to force me to let them go to sh*t or save my transfer and not transfer akl to blt in an attempt to get pit 2 bedroom so now I can't even try for that.

So effing annoying but I know i chose this lol

If something is open when your SSR closes and points post would you be willing to borrow some points to book even one night? Then you can note a continuing reservation with the other nights in your other membership. You could then bank freed up current UY allotment points in the other membership so you don't lose the nine SSR points?

Yes i can totally do that if something is open. I'm not sure how reservations go from here on out, but we are about 5 months out from our vacation and pretty much at a stand still with rooms opening.

At 6 months there was something popping up just about every day, now I've been waiting a couple of weeks for two single night bcv waitlists to go thru, supposedly were pixie dusted at the top of the list, but nothing comes up at all.

My worry is that these rooms we want are so hard to get that they won't be available for me to book on SSR and cancel on the other contracts. I'm not sure if the closer we get, the more people cancel and rooms will pop up but now literally nothing is changing on the room availability. I guess the one hope is that we have a Vero beach resy going on and that one seems widely available to potentially book on the SSR contract, but then I will have another issue that I borrowed too many points on that contract to book Vero and not lose points

Worst case scenario i guess I'll try to book a one night stay at grand californian or something since we are local. Of course that's going to be another challenge in of itself

All of this stress is happening because my memberships weren't processed by the 7 month booking window and yes im trying to piece together resorts we actually want to stay at. I'd like to think that when all contracts are loaded up and 7 month window is an option that this will go much smoother. Worst case scenario I give up staying at BCV and stay at the 1 bedroom vgf I have booked. Not a bad alternative.

Given what we are hearing, I am going to say no because they have stopped it.

You can always ask, but my guess is they have put limits into the system that prevents it.

Sounds like these changes were a step to impact the owners who were doing multiple transfers and then renting a lot or doing the whole buy, strip and flip.

Maybe I’m missing something, but does preventing multiple transfer really add that much friction to the buy/strip/flip model?

Will an owner not just rent all the points instead (borrowing as much as possible) and then sell with a delayed closing if necessary?

Sure, it’s not quite as fast - but does that stop it? I don’t know.
