Dvc point rental question

We are renting dvc points for the first time. People with experience with this.... how long does it typically take if your request is queued? How confident are you that you will get your request filled? At what time would you abandon the search and book with Disney to secure your trip?

My request is in queue with David’s vacation club rentals and I just don’t want to wait too long. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I'm in the same exact boat. Going with friends next June and I don't have enough points for a 2 bedroom so we're renting, or at least trying to anyway. David's just doesn't have anyone at VWL (Boulder Ridge) right now with that amount of points so we're waiting. You could check the boards here, (DVC boards and then click Rent and Trade) but you will want to have some more trust since there is not a broker there. You may also want to come up with a backup plan or consider a less popular resort that can get booked at 7 months, like Saratoga.
