DVC Plans More Exclusive Spaces for Members **UPDATE - New Member Lounge Coming to MK in 2024**

A couple of thoughts about this.

1. I had not heard that DVC used to have free daily room servicing. When did that change? I had always thought it was standard timeshare cleaning schedule.
The only thing in that post you quoted that is remotely accurate is the free valet parking. Complimentary passes ended nearly 30 years ago (the incentive ended in around 1996, with the last ones expiring in 2000). There was never daily housekeeping, and annual passes in 2000, the year when complimentary DVC passes expired, were all $300, no matter who you were. WDW didn’t even begin offering a Florida resident pass until 2015, and the Incredi-Pass was created post-COVID.

No Florida resident discounted passes until 2018..??

I do not think that is correct.

Sorry, should have said they didn’t offer a specific Florida resident pass until the Gold in 2015.

They had an “After 4” pass for residents back in 1995, but it wasn’t really the equivalent of any other passes, and residents did get a nominal discount on other passes.

I believe there were resident discounts further back.
I did own a Silver in 2015.

But, you are correct. That list of perks was well off the mark.

Yeah, my point was that the statement “When we purchased, members got free tickets, free valet parking, daily room servicing, the incredi-pass for $300, etc.” is way off because the free tickets and “Incredi-Passes” are offset by about two decades.

I don’t see any mention of snacks, however, I do not recall mention of them when it originally opened. Curious to see if they’ll be out.

Hopefully 'open soon' will mean within the next 9 days. Really enjoy stopping over there for an AC break and free drinks during the hot summer/fall of Florida...bringing a friend who's never seen it before, so I think she'd enjoy the little extra perk too.

But the big question...did they add bathrooms???

Likely not - plumbing and such would have taken a lot longer. At least in MK, the bathrooms are just around the corner - with Epcot's DVC, the bathrooms are a trek!
