DVC Planner Computer Program - Updated

Thanks everyone.

chrispoponak, it's written using VB 6.0

Any plans to add the Disney Collection?
No, that would require users to get annual point chart updates. DVC resorts have a pattern for annual points adjusting them only around Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter holidays. The pattern is straight forward and I used it to develop point charts through 2010. The Disney Collection changes annually and there is no way to pattern future years.

Had a question....I'd like to 'burn' the "DVC Theme Song" that plays periodically on this program onto a CD...how can I go about doing that?
The file is named DVCMagic.WAV and is located in directory C:\DVCPlan.

This is a Disney file, and is part of the DVC screensaver if you have it. I searched the DVC site again and I don't think the screensaver is still there for download. I remember when I got it you took some sort of quiz about DVC, and if you got the questions right, your 'reward' was you could download the screensaver. If anyone knows where this is at you might post as perhaps others would like to have the full screen saver. (It's one of the best screen savers I've seen.)

AmyVee, you'll need to check your computer instructions on how to put the WAV file onto a CD. I'm assuming you want to put it onto an Audio CD so it'll play in a CD player. It may need to be converted first. I don't have a lot of first hand knowledge on that. If you just want it as a data CD so you can play it on any computer, then just copy the WAV file directly to the CD.

Thanks for the tip on the music!

This program is fun to use and extremely helpful in deciding what/when/where on DVC stays!

Thanks again!

:bounce: Thanks Bill!!!:bounce:

Great Program!! I liked the 1.0 ver., but just love the 1.5 ver. It makes the hole trip planning VERY simple.

Thanks again.......Doc Hog

I can't seem to download it.

I am not really technical but the directions were easy and I followed to a tee unfortunately I couldn't get it loaded.

We are about to purchase and I thought if my DH saw it all out on paper he would get a better idea of what is to come in his future:cool:

If any of you technical guys can offer a little bit more of your time I could really use some help?

Thanks,
Carolyn:(

Thank you so much Bill!! This from a person who has lost more downloaded programs into cyberspace, but this one loaded with no problem at all and works like a charm. I can't even imagine how much time this took!! Thank you again.

Thanks for all of your hard work. As a potential DVC buyer, this program allows me to see "behind the curtain" and get a better understanding of DVC points and their use. Thanks again.

Thank you so much for all of your hard work...EXCELLENT!!!!

Absolutely wonderful program. Thanks so much for your hard work. I do have one problem though - I cannot see the entire screen. The right hand side and the bottom are cut off with no arrows to slide over or down. So I have no access to the buttons. Did I do something wrong? Do you have any ideas how I can fix this?

Thanks for any help you might be able to give!

For anyone who might experience this, note this will be due to the setup of your computer and not the program itself.

The DVC Planner, like many other computer programs, requires a minimum 800x600 screen resolution so your computer needs to be set to 800x600 minimum. (If you're still using a much older computer/monitor (10 years ago) that will only show a maximum 640 resolution, then your only choice is to upgrade your system.) (If the program had been developed for the old 640 resolution, then the screens would absolutely appear tiny to someone using 1024 or higher resolutions. I took a poll on the DIS way back, and 800x600 was the most common denominator DIS posters had on their computers.)

The other possibility is if you set your default window's font size to something other than NORMAL. If you set your screen for Large Fonts, then that will cause some screens to expand beyond the edge of the monitor.

By design, the DVC Planner program will fill a screen full size when set at 800x600 resolution and normal fonts.

Depending on your system, change screen resolution under the Settings Control, and Font Sizes under the Appearance control.
