Dvc pins

I read about some members only pins.
What are they and where do you get them?
I tihnk there are 4

Actually, there are 5. There was a nice article about them with pics in the Spring member newsletter. You can read it on the DVC website.

To answer you question though, you can buy them at the major pin stores in each park and at the DVC resorts.

Right now, the only one available is the Jiminy Cricket AK one. The Tinkerbell, which is suppose to be available year round, is sold out, but should be out again soon. The others are to be released on a quarterly schedule.

I wish you can buy them via mail order, but you can't.

I still do not understand why DVC does on have a merchandise store. Am I alone in believing it would generate tremendous interest among the members?

Pins, artwork, clothing, other collectibles would surely sell well. Maybe there is something I do not understand about retail sales

The reason you cannot buy them by mail is because for the most part they are limited editions. Disney will not sell limited edition pins by mail (because us out of towners would jam the phone lines if they did).

They do have DVC merchandise available at the DVC resort gift shops. I bought a nice DVC jacket at the BC gift shop last year. They also had mugs, t-shirts, hats, pins. There probably would not be enough sales to run a separate store.

I know I over paid, but by the time I get to WDW in July, the first 3 may be gone and I might be too early for the 4th one, so I have bid on and won the Tinkerbell pin and the Jiminy Cricket pin also.

I was going to wait on the Tinkerbell pin becuase it was called an "Open Edition" and was to have been available all year long, but many posts here have appeared to make it sound hard to get.

I expect some smart Ebay seller to wait until the end of year and sell all 5 as a set and really make a killing, probably over $100.00

We will be at VWL the last week of April. I would be more than happy to pick up these pins, if they are available, for you. I don't know how much the postage is on these. It will be just the pin cost plus the postage if anyone is interested. Please pm me if interested

Does anyone know if the next ones are out yet? It is second quarter now. I have some friends going in 3 weeks and wanted them to get me one but I have the AK one. I don't know who is next either. I think you can only buy them at the park they are representative of though along with the DVC resorts and the pin store in DD next to the DVC booth.

I checked the new releases for April on DIZpins.com and did not see a new DVC pin in this series scheduled. Yes, it is the second quarter, but the Jiminy Cricket pin came out in Feb, so I would say maybe May for the next one in the series. The best way to find out is to check on Ebay. Once they are for sale there, there out.

When we were there three weeks ago we got the Jimminy Cricket pin, but Tink was sold out all over WDW.
