DVC Online Tour---$40 gift card?

Todd did tell me that the gift card would be comming after the info packet, possibly up to two weeks later.

It's disappointing that current DVC members can't take advantage of this...but understandable.

Ok, we have a Disney Visa in my husbands name, can I call and use his card or do they have to speak with him. Or if I am a authorized user, would that work.

My mom has the account, and I'm an authorized user and I was able to do the tour no problem. The GC also came addressed to me, not her. I don't even know if they really check whose account it is, they only ask for the first six digits.

Just took the tour tonight. Called using the number provided on this thread and had not received a postcard. They asked about our credit card info and then gave us the go ahead. It took 15 minutes and was the easiest $40 ever. They did say that it could take 45-60 for the giftcard to arrive. We leave in like 63 days... so fingers crossed it shows in time!

I did the tour..gift card was addressed to my husband.now he cant do disney tour.:confused3

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this?

I was told only 1 GC per household - no matter how many different acct's. Is that what you're asking?

But when our GC came, it wasn't in anyone's name. Just a plain plastic card that has "Disney Gift Card" written on the lower right hand corner. I don't think it matter who uses it....

HTH

Took the tour today. Did not receive the postcard and had no problems - just provided the first 6 numbers on the Visa card, name, mailing and e-mail info. Clicked through a couple of things with Bernard. Easy to chat with and no hard sell. Said I should receive the Gift Card in around 30 days.

Oh, BTW, he said prices were going up effective 1/17/2012 so if anyone really is interested, lock in before then and you'll get the 2011 prices and points plus the 2012. I sure wish I had some extra funds lying around as it's something I would be interested in if we could afford it. Maybe we'll win the lottery tonight. :rotfl:

I took my tour w/Cathy and couldn't of been easier. She went thru her spiel in about 10 min. Of course they had me in their system from doing this b/4 in Jan '10 when you got the $25 gc so they knew I was only doing it for the money.

I took the tour on Dec 19th but have yet to recieve the packet of info or the gift card. I was just wondering if I should call the number back, or wait some more. Lots of people have said that they have received the gc within 10 days:confused3

I was hoping my daughter could do it to as she has her own card but she still lives at home so guess she can't :rolleyes1

Hmmm... I just got this in the mail yesterday and we Leave for Disney in a week. Has anyone gotten their gift card in less than a week? I'm tempted to try it but I don't want it to arrive while we are gone if I have to sign for it.

I was't home when mine was delivered, but the delivery person left a note on the door with options to check for re-delivery or pick-up. I opted to pick mine up. Will anyone be watching your mail for you? Could you have them check the box for pick up upon your return?
Can't say for sure, but I doubt it will come within a week...

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Just did mine ~ sort of. My rep was having terrible phone issues, and we got through the basics, but couldn't finish. She apologized and said she would mail me more info in the next couple of days, and that my GC would be here within 30 days.

Basically just got a free QS meal for our June trip, and it only cost me about 5 minutes of my time! Thanks for the heads up!!

Just wanted to say thank you so much for this thread. I am Disney visa cardholder and did not receive the postcard but called the number in this thread. It was a very easy phone call and the cast member was not pushy at all. He never asked if I was interested or not, he just told me that he would send the information packet and to look it over. The packet came very quickly with a coloring book for my daughter. And hubby is very interested in the DVC now! We will most likely buy into it in a few years. We have rented points and loved it. Hopefully the gift card will come before our May trip to the world!

I did mine on 28 Nov 11 and am still waiting for it. I wouldn't even consider a week possible. And unless you're going to be in Disney for a month, I wouldn't worry about not being home when it comes. The offer says the card will be mailed approximately 30 days after the tour takes place.

My mom did not get a postcard but has a Disney visa so I told her to call anyway. She gave the fist guy her info. The second guy asked if she was interested and she said no and then the guy told her that her card would be arriving in 30 day. That was easy and she plans to give me the card so now i have 2 $40 cards for my upcoming trip!:rotfl2:

I wonder if it goes by address or by Visa card number. I am on my dad's Visa card, but we live at separate addresses. The lady who took my information had me in the system but at an old address, so she updated my information and they are sending the card to my address. My dad is not in their system, but we have the same card number so if he were to call, would he be able to get the $40 too?
