I'm ready to rent DVC points from one of you wonderful owners. As a newby, I'm not familiar at all with the process, and the FAQs here weren't quite clear.

1) I went through the calculator, and found I need between 87 and 106 points for 3//23/06-03/28/06 or 3/29/06. How do I know if rooms are available for those dates?

2) Am I treated as a guest (given a parking pass, etc.)
3) Eligible for the extended magic hours at the parks?
4) Will the hotel confirmation be in my name?
5) What else should be in place to protect the seller AND buyer of points?

I don't want to nickel and dime anyone or make this more complicated than necessary. I just want to feel comfortable with the process. Any help would be appreciated. And if you can help me with the dates above, feel free to PM me.

You have to contact a renter and he will check availablity. These dates are for a busy time for dvc, and also a short notice to get booking. That's why you are not getting responces.

yes

Hope these answers help.

Today is Feb 21. You are looking for a reservation to begin less than 30 days out. If there is availability, the member would have to check with Member Services. They are closed today for the holiday (they usually close on Federal holidays). No one can even check until tomorrow. They are also closed on weekends. A member would lose the full use of their points if you cancelled or failed to pay them promptly.

You have the same rights as any WDW guest, but you don't get daily cleaning in DVC villas when staying on points.

Just FYI they were open today, of course they are closed now but they had normal business hours, I spoke with them around 4:00.

I understand, and I would certainly pay the member up front 100%. I do realize it's short notice during a busy time. Thank you all for your responses, you have all been very helpful.
