We drive the 14 hrs to HHI staying at a hotel on the way down. Sometimes we fly into Savannah, GA & rent a car. It is a great get away resort without the pressure of visiting theme parks. In fact we liked HHI so much, we looked into Marriott's new Surf Watch resort that should be completed next year. Being OKW/VB owners, we acknowledge the benefits of
DVC, but the options afforded by the Marriott Vacation Club and the actual title to a week forever, will be something that possibly can be appreciated by future generations. I do believe after looking at the Marriott's Newport Beach, CA Resort, DVC missed a great oppurtunity. Not only would Western US DVC owners be interested, but others throughout the balance of DVC ownership would be greatly interested in visiting the West Coast.
