DVC monthly payment plan for AP

I posted a question on another board about this and thought I should post it here also.
I have had an AP since 1998. This year being on disability I found it hard to renew so it expired on July 11. I can't believe how I feel about it, not having an AP really makes me think twice about my next trip. Before I would just plan a trip without thinking about the ticket to get in, I would only have to worry about food since my DVC took care of the room and I had an AP.
Anyway, I digress.....
I asked if anyone thought Disney would offer DVC members a payment plan like they offer to FL residents. Right now a FL resident can pay approx $97 for the AP then $27-35 a month depending on which type of AP they had.
Someone posted an address to email request for the payment plan and quite a few of us did. Today someone who sent an Email got a phone call asking for more feedback. they were not promised that it would happen but that Disney is looking into it.
So I thought that it would be a good time to post the address here. I hope some or all of you would send a quick email asking for this benefit. I know I wouldn't mind the approx $30 be added to my monthly dues.
Here is the email address:

Thanks for your post I am going to write them as well. I have been wanting this as an option.

That's a great idea! Buying park passes for the whole family every year can be pretty daunting. I just sent my email in!

Good morning. My DVC membership number is xxxxxxxxxxx for reference purposes (and authenticating my membership).

I just wanted to drop a note expressing how pleased we have been given our relatively short time as members of DVC. We have the most wonderful and helpful guide in the entire DVC system in Nick Xxxxxxx and our experience at all of the DVC resorts has been amazing, especially at our primary home resort, AK Kidani. We are looking forward to our second trip this year this weekend.

Given the current economic climate, I just wanted to express how nice it would be to have a monthly payment option on Annual Passes for DVC members like FL residents already have. I think this would be a wonderful perk for our membership and a great test bed for Disney Parks to sample a potential rollout for guests beyond just FL residents.

While we enjoy or trips to WDW more than virtually anything else we do away from home, it is getting harder and harder to swallow the cost of tickets at WDW for our family, and I know we’re not alone. Not unlike other members I have discussed this with, our pre-paid accommodations, along with our Annual Passes, encourage us to take more trips to WDW, and thus spend more money at both the parks and the resorts. What is becoming harder, is swallowing that $1200+ pill every year in order to fully enjoy our trips.

No response is expected. I just wanted to pass this along as a suggestion as I truly believe this could be a win-win for DVD from a marketing perspective as well as a relatively inexpensive yet wonderful perk for the membership, since the pieces are virtually all already in place to accommodate such a perk.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely and Kind Regards,
-bob

How is this better than simply saving that amount of money every month with the option of purchaing the AP or not if other needs arise?

It really isn't but for some people, it is easier when the money has to be sent vs. just saving.

Plus, if it is in place when someone gets there first AP, there is no wait.

I just received a call from DVC and they told me that it is not something that DVC can offer but they will speak to their Walt Disney World "Partners" who are the ones who will decide if the option can be offered to DVC members.
She said she has received numerous emails (Yeah People) in the past few days and they see that it is an option that we are very interested in obtaining.

I can't see any reason in the world why you can't do it that way or continue to do it that way, as the case may be, if that's the way you choose to do so. Obviously, others of us would like other options. I hope you don't find that offensive. I find your post as very condoscending to those of us feeling a need to explore other options.

Some people are very good with budgeting and can put money aside and not touch it. I am not one of those.
When I have money put aside for something and something comes up, there goes my savings.
I used to be much better when I was working and had extra cash, but now that I am on disability it seems something always comes up. Little things like the furnace goes bad, or the car needs new tires. the savings for my AP just don't seem to make it to the $500 I need.

got my call just now saying the same thing. I told her she was probably going to get a lot of emails and she said "bring it on!" we love getting these emails and will work hard for the members if this is something you guys want.

Got the same voicemail back you guys got. At least Customer Satisfaction gives us some similance of an organized voice. Hopefully, it won't fall on deaf ears.

I just sent an email as well. There are only two of us, but I imagine once we have children, it will get tougher and tougher to pay upfront for all of us. I think it makes sense to offer the option. Now that DVC is on both coasts, it may even make sense for the premiere pass.

I think of this situation like the annual dues. Some people pay in one lump sum; others pay monthly. It doesn't affect me which way people decide to pay, as long as both options are available for everyone. :thumbsup2

Done. They called me back right away and said as others have pointed out- "they will contact their WDW partners" and ask the question.

I like the idea if there's no interest added. Not sure I'll send a note though, as I tend to put aside what I'll be spending on the APs before we arrive.

Disney probably thought DVC owners have money, verses Florida residents who all either retired or are in the entertainment industry
