DVC Membership Cards...anyone have one yet?

1998/2002/2006/2008 direct and 2014 resale with my DD, we received our's at the same time last month.

Just received them two days ago (member since 1997 who orignially purchased from DVD). That followed a two month period over which I ordered them online, called and asked twice and was told they would be out "soon," and sent a letter requesting that they be sent. It is nice to know though that Disney can send some things super quick, like when it is taking things away from members. It took DVD only two days to get to me the formal letter announcing the take away of perks from resale purchasers that first appeared online April 3. We obviously know Disney's priorities.

I have just phoned DVC and they told me they should be here in 6 to 8 weeks!! That's a long time! Oh, and in case we don't receive them before going on vacation, we can ask for our cards in any DVC Resort... I have never heard about this. I told her we're flying from Europe to California, and we're going first to Disneyland and she said it'd be ok to get them at the Grand Californian. She said we can't get them at DVC kiosks but yes at DVC resorts, anyone knows if this is true?

Oh and she never heard about 25th anniversary mailing

Like Drusba I've e-mailed twice, called twice and ordered online. Last time I called MS said they had no record of my previous requests!

NO cards here. I called before I left on my trip earlier this month because my friend had told me about printing off digital ones online. Well when I went online I saw that both of our contracts (purchased in 2007 and 2011) both said MEMBER SINCE 2009. I also told the cast member I had not gotten mine. She told me they were behind in sending and that there was a glitch in the system and they didn't know how to fix the 2009 thing. Our 2007 contract was purchased direct and our 2011 were purchased thru resale.
I just purchased resale, closed on April 18, but passed ROFR on March 2nd, so I'm still hoping to be grandfathered in and waiting on cards, but I did download the digital card and thought it was very very strange that it said member since 2004???cant wait to see what the real card says

You can log into your account and print out a temporary card thats good for 60 days

if you log into your Dvc account and go to your dashboard, up in the right hand corner is the link to access your membership cards, click on it and then you can either create a digital membership card you can print out or you can request cards

We've never received ours either and have been members since 1999. I just logged in and printed our card (says since 2000 but close enough I guess). What is the difference in the cards? Are they different colors or something? Nothing on the card says that we bought direct.

The new cards look exactly like the temporary card you saw on the member website, but have an expiration date of approx. 5 years. It appears as if DVC has decided to replace member id cards every 5 years.

Those that purchase resale after the cut off date for the latest resale restrictions will not get member id cards (unless they also have points purchased prior to cut off).

So the ones that don't buy direct & don't qualify for the extra discounts, etc, don't get a card at all? Wouldn't they still need them for vacation purchases & to identify them as DVC?

Correct

There really isn't any other use for a member id card except for proof of discount.

Correct

I still think it is and should be a card you can have showing your member id#. When I'm traveling and am required to call in it is what I use as it's always in my wallet. For whatever reason it's an annoyance to me that they aren't going to issue to people buying now and it doesn't even effect me! :goodvibes Maybe it's just that I'm annoyed at what I perceive as the pettiness of the changes but I still think a card of some sort should be given with the number even if no discounts are allowed with it.

And there's still the question of TOTWL and something else - is it pool hopping that is still allowed for everyone?

Received our "replacement" cards today, not the original in the Silver Anniversary Pack. Several weeks ago while speaking to Member Services ordered a replacement set knowing that we would be traveling to DCL today, how about that for cutting it close.
