DVC Membership Cards...anyone have one yet?

For people who've owned for awhile and haven't gotten the new cards, did you get the 25th anniversary mailing in the thick, biggish, SILVER envelope?

If so, it was in there. That's where DH's card was, and on the few other threads about the new member cards it has been said over and over and over that that is where they are putting the cards. Stuck to a random piece of paper in a mailing about something that has nothing to do with the member cards.

Because that totally makes sense.

Owners since 2008!! pixiedust: YES!!! Received our cards inside the SILVER envelope about a month ago!!! :teacher: :yay:

Owners since 2010 via direct purchase. Both my husband and I are on the deeds of all three contracts. We received our silver envelope yesterday. My new card was in it. His was not...

Still waiting for ours. We bought direct 10 years ago. We leave in two weeks, so I'm not sure we'll have ours by then. We'll take the printout from the website.

DVC really dropped the ball on this one, invalidating the old cards before the new ones were sent out.

Direct buy, 2 contracts, owners for 5 years. No new cards yet.

They accepted my 'old' card for discounts at WoD and Once upon a toy in Disney Springs, and both the Fantasia gift shop and the other fancy gift shop in the Contemporary. They never even asked me about a new card. This was about a week and half ago. They did ask for ID at all of those places, but in my experience they have always done that.

Didn't go to any theme parks, so can't report on if they are accepting them there or not. But I wouldn't be worried about the 'old' cards not being accepted.

Well so I just now got an interesting phone call from DVC Customer service. For some reason I had emailed in a location request for one of our future stays and it got kicked over to CS as me having had a "dissatisfied" chat session with someone. I have NOT had any chats with anybody lately tho so it was pretty weird. But the supposed chat was dated on the 9th she said. The only thing I did on the 9th was email my location request. So their IT stuff is acting extra super wonky. ANYWAY, while I was on the phone with her I said "OH, I know this probably isn't your area BUT what's UP with the new member cards"? I had been told on a phone call in March that they would all be mailed out by April 1st - which we all know by now was NOT true. She said she's now hearing that they should all be done by the end of April AND she was told that the reason they're taking soooo long to go out is because they're being done BY HAND!!! I was like "you're KIDDING me, right?! Do they still use ledger paper too?!" She laughed and said she only knows what they tell her. But can YOU IMAGINE what a cluster this effort is if that is true?! :jester: LOL. SMH. :sad2:

I told her the reasons I hadn't printed out my new one from online was 1) there wasn't one for DH too and that 2) I'd heard it would only be good for 90 days so I was trying to wait it out. She told me the reason I only see a card online for me is because DH has never set up his own account online. He would have to create his own DVC user acct. then there would be one for him to do himself. I do all of the planning so he's never used the member site - but wouldn't you think since we're joint members that they would still both be available?! How stupid. Also, she said if we print them online and they expire we can just go back in & re-print new ones. So they don't really have a final expiration date.

No - we didn't get this big silver packet either.

Yes we finally got ours a few weeks ago. Unlike some members both my husband and I each got a card.... Still need to remember to put them in our wallets.

We have 2 direct purchase contracts 2009 & 2013 buys

they're being done BY HAND!

The cards are somehow being printed by hand, or they are being mailed out by hand? I don't see a huge problem with the latter. Especially since they were putting them in the 25th anniversary envelope, you would almost have to stuff that manually.

Aha. Well, there's still potential hope for that, then. Or you'll get it in something totally different. :)

DH got his (I'm just the associate though I'm the one that set up his account and do everything with it LOL) very early on, but the silver envelope sat there for at least a week, if not more, because I didn't care about the anniversary stuff. Then finally I opened it up to prepare it for recycling, and boom, new card. Weird weird place to put the card...

Apparently they're being pulled for processing by hand is how I took it. Just seems like it should be a little more automated than that by the year 2016.

nothing here yet....no packet

Owners since 2007, now with 5 contracts

Thank you for all of your responses. I'm glad I asked because I never would have gone to check to see if we had received the silver envelope. Sure enough it was filed away with our membership cards inside! Oops!!

My DH and I bought direct in 1996 and my DDs bought direct in 2010. My DDs and I received our new cards in February but my DH did not receive his until late March.

We bought direct 8 years ago and got our cards in Jan or Feb. I don't remember which it was.

GUESS WHAT WAS IN OUR MAILBOX TODAY!? YES!! BINGO!! FINALLY!!! The silver envelope HAS ARRIVED!!! (I was expecting there might be other stuff in it besides the membership cards?!)
:cool1::cheer2::banana::bounce:
