Dvc membership card…showing no discount error

We checked into the DVC club and the CM checking in still allowed the 2 people in front to use their cards. One lady had an oooooold card! They couldn’t even find her in the system it was so old… CM let her upstairs to “have it looked into” Next Owner just showed the last current blue card and was let up. Neither was asked for ID as I was 3rd in line and heard /saw everything. I presented my Digital card with Y designation which she watched me unlock with my face and she proceeds to ask ME for ID anyway, once upstairs, the first guest was arguing with the CM because she didn’t want to verify her information.

Finally after her family had been settled and grabbed the snacks, she proceeds to the desk with the CM who tries to locate her in the system. Long story short, she was no longer an owner and therefore not eligible to be upstairs. They asked her and her party to leave. Boy was she upset! This could have easily been avoided if the CM downstairs had followed their own rules! We showed our Digital card and was never asked for ID at the restaurants and or at checkout? I wish they would just be consistent with how they handle this.

They used to send you a card - the most recent was blue w/ a silver Mickey head, it had your name, how long you’d been a member, your member no., & the most recent one had an expiration date of 12-31-2021 - which you used to show to get discounts instead of fiddling w/ your phone.

I have a Blue membership card that expired that is why I asked what card. I know they were not sending cards out and they are no longer sending them And since they were expired -not valid. I had my card linked to my account but now I can’t see it on the app.

The new digital MM card has to be added to your Apple Wallet or To Google pay.

Once there you can click the dots..or details..to show your affiliations..which will be where the DVC Y or DVC ND will show

i found it in my apple wallet. it has DVC Y, ANNUAL and then an ID number and below that a barcode.

Just an FYI, that ID number is not associated to your DVC membership in anyway. It's no different than the code on the back of a MagicBand and only links your Disney MagicMobile Pass to your MDE account.

so the QR code is no use ? the number is right below the QRcode also. I know my membership number by heart

The QR code could probably be read by a handheld scanner for park entry (if tickets linked to MDE) or a photopass photographer. Basically it's a backup if the NFC chip in the phone is not read by the MagicBand touch points.

The original purpose of the Disney MagicMobile Pass (when launched early last year) was to allow a smartphone and/or Apple Watch to function much like a MagicBand at WDW. Disney added the "Affiliation" this year to show eligibility for DVC perks.

Thank you so much for this explanation that finally allowed me to find the DVC Y designation. I've never used the Wallet for anything and wondered why it wasn't on the card showing lol.

Anyone else still having the DVC ND glitch? My original DVC contract is resale, but I have since purchased 150 points direct under a different membership number. So I am a non-grandfathered "Blue Card" member now, but it still says DVC ND on my MagicMobile card.

My ND was finally fixed, but I was one of the grandfathered ones having the issue; not sure exactly when it was fixed since I stopped checking a month ago, but today it has a Y. Didn’t need to reload card in the Apple Wallet - it just swapped over.
