Dvc membership card…showing no discount error

Is this going to be a "temporary" glitch like the resale borrowing points "glitch" that has been happening for 18 months and they have no plans to "fix"

And, you can still get a temporary ID card on the site as well.
Yes, but will anyone accept it as proof of eligibility for discounts? I was under the impression that the exception would be discontinued effective today and all members would be required to pull up Apple or Google Pay show their qualification.

My concern is that I purchased DVC gold AP vouchers and will not be able to redeem them due to this glitch. I have plenty of time before I expect to return to Disney but if this goes on for 18 months (or is a permanent change) then I'm going to sell them rather than exchange them and pay more money to the mouse.

As of today(feb. 1st) this issue is still not resolved and per more than one DVC CS agent it was to be fixed by the end of January. I really believe they were just told to tell us that and hope for the best. I have talked and chatted with DVC CS several times on this issue that should not even be an issue if Disney IT had just done their job. Using past experience with Disney IT on several issues I have no faith it will be resolved anytime soon...ºoº

My point was simply that the temporary cards were yet another thing they categorically said were going to be gone on Feb 1. As to everything else, I have zero confidence anything will work right at this point.

I looked mine up. It doesn't say anything about status. Just name, contract number and expiration. Am I doing something different/wrong ?

The DVC Affiliation will be in either the Apple Wallet or Google Pay depending on what smartphone you have.
Apple Wallet, touch the 3 dots at the top right of the Disney MagicMobile Pass
Google Pay, touch details on the Disney MagicMobile Pass

FWIW I've used mine 5 times in the past 4 or so days at various locations, and all 5 times the CM barely glanced at the rectangle in my google pay and applied the discount. One asked to see my ID. None of them have looked for any sort of notation verifying eligibility.

Good to hear, maybe all the CM's are now aware of the mess and just what to do until it is resolved...ºoº

so it’s not a case of them asking you to tap your phone to show eligibility on their side?

We are at Disney this week and my wallet card shows ND when it shouldn’t as well. We called and the DVC cast member said it was “supposed to be fixed this week but probably next week” and to show the temporary card. We did this at Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo house gift shop. The employees were quite nasty - told me I could only use the Wallet card and that “it’s to prevent people who don’t deserve a discount from getting one”. Then one of the women talked to me like I was a child (and a criminal) and finally gave me a “discount credit this time” but put it on a merchandise card. The merchandise card was then exempt from discounts. Aside from this horrible experience, all other places accepted the temp card without trouble.

You. Have. To. Be. Kidding.

You have my sympathy (not worth much, I know).

Please send an email to Member Satisfaction describing your experience. Maybe if they get enough complaints, someone will light a fire under those responsible for fixing the issue.

Sadly, I suspect that the only way to "light the fire" is for a HUGE number of prospects to refrain from buying DVC direct until the website is fixed and annual pass sales resume. But that's not going to happen anywhere except in my dreams. :(

Thanks; yes, I will send in a complaint. Unfortunately, the magic seems to be dwindling and we’ve been with DVC since 2012 (and my husband’s parents since it was first sold). With the amount we pay in fees you would think they’d maintain our “property” better and treat us more kindly. We stayed in the 3 bedroom (the furthest rooms from the front), had 2 car loads of bags, and when we checked in they had no carts or bell hops available. They told us to either come back 2 hours later to see if a cart is available, leave our bags on the curb, or haul everything up ourselves. Since we had food, we ended up doing it ourselves (4+ trips with elderly folks with us). We did complain to a manager about that and they offered a complimentary day of Genie+. I think the staff just isn’t trained properly and there is no communication. I would steer clear of Animal Kingdom Lodge specifically. The staff can’t keep up with cleaning (mashed food in the carpets, spilled cleaning solution bleaching the floors, faulty USB ports, broken granite countertops, unmanned desks). We swapped over to Contemporary mid-trip and they were very nice and accommodating (and no issues at the gift shops with the temp card). Also no issues in the parks with the temp card or at Springs.

I have called MS and done chat several times on this issue and keep getting told they are working on it. The first few times it was to be fixed by the end of January and now they say they have no date it is to be fixed but to simply print off or show the CM the blue card with the extended expiration date and it will be OK. It looks as if not all the CM's have been trained on this mess that Disney IT created. It is their fault all the way. There is no way this should have been allowed to go live without this major feature being tested and retested. This is one of the reasons the phone lines are so clogged due to people like us calling in to get it fixed...ºoº
