Just a quick question... How many times a year do you get to go "HOME"...

Unfortunately due to a nasty divorce I am about to lose mine but while I had it, I was living in Jacksonville, Florida so I was only 2 hours away. We went around once a month. I loved it. I always said that if I ever won the lottery I would see if I could just move into Old Key West permanently because I love that place so much!

So Sorry to hear that Lovindisney4ever... Been there done that and it sucks. Luckly my ex was not the points owner LOL

Usually just once a year. A few times we have gone twice in a year.

We go "home" about 2-3 times per year. One year, we went 5 times. I would live at AKV from October - March if we could! Thankfully, we have reasonable airfare and approximately a 2 hour flight from Michigan.

So Sorry to hear that Lovindisney4ever... Been there done that and it sucks. Luckly my ex was not the points owner LOL

The idiot asked me when we first separated if him and his mom could take it over, make the payments, etc. but I could still use it from time to time because it is in both of our names. I would of never agreed but he left me high and dry financially and I had to move back to Michigan to live with my parents to survive so I reluctantly agreed. I should have known not to do it because I found out recently that he never made a single payment on the loan or dues and now it is in foreclosure. He changed the address so I never received any notifications of what was going on. I would have found a way to make the payments if I would have known. Now it is too late and to avoid the foreclosure going on our record we have to deed it back to DVC. Sooooo very aggravating and depressing to lose something that I love so much!!

I love my wife dearly, but I've made it clear in any divorce DVC is mine!

We usually go 3-4 times a year, usually once without kids. Usually mix DVC in with a stay at Pop or POFQ.

This year we only get to go twice and within a week of each other-- weekend for the Wine and Dine (sans kids) and the following weekend for my sisters wedding over 9 days, to include 3-days on the Dream.

Already have three trips planned next year and may try to pull off a fourth

We used to go two or three times a year, but stopped drinking the Koolaid. We sold off two contracts and now go once a year. We were in a GV for a week this summer, so no points left until 2012 points (late fall points). Probably spring 2013 for the next trip.

We're going on more cash trips elsewhere - headed to Yellowstone, Glacier and Waterton Park in a few weeks on the way to dropping the son off at college.

Usually 2, but this year 4. We have a vacation home on Hilton Head Island, and it's only a 5 hour drive from there. So when we spend a week there, sometimes we go to WDW for 2 nights in the middle of that week. Beats the 13 hour drive from southern Indiana.

Usually once a year. 2010 was an anomaly for us. We ended up going 3 times. We went in Jan, July, and Dec. For this year and next we will be back to once per year unless we can do an AP rate trip sometime.

Up till now, at least once a year and sometimes up to 3 times depending on price of airfare.... This year, we had a few issues at Disney which made me realize it's time to move on and try new places...Already started the planning to either use the points and go to Hawaii or use the points to go to Italy...but I'm steering clear of Disneyworld for awhile...

We have only been members since September 2010 so we have only been home once so far (May 2011), we will be going back home in January 2012 and hoping to get availability in July for HHI for my DD's birthday. It's kind of funny, we haven't actually been "Home" yet, meaning our home resort is BLT and when we were in the World in May we stayed at BCV and we are returning to BCV in January because we are taking my in-laws and 2 studios are cheaper there then at BLT. We do plan on going "Home" sometime in the near future though

We joined in 2009 and since then we've been going every year. Hopefully we can keep that up since we only have 160 points a year.

We try to get 2-3 trips out of an AP. But then we may skip almost a year.

Twice a year - may and october, for 10-13 days each time (we found we don't enjoy trips any less than that). Plus a week (not my choice ) in august, with my parents, DB and his family.
I'm thinking about a trip to europE next year, but I'M sure we'll be at WDW at least once (btw, we just relax at WDW, spending very little time in the parks).
