We attended the Member's Update this morning at OKW. It provided the usual good information about the DVC program and offered suggestions about using the II exchange program (many exchanges are done for less than 180 points for a week's stay.)
The BCV has far exceeded sales estimates. As we already know here, the $5 incentive is now gone- but has been replaced with a $5 MB program. Cost will increase to $80 per point on June 2...and they are now projecting the resort to be 50% sold by opening day, July 1. With the current sales pace, they expect a sell out by the end of the year!! He indicated that BCV sales thus far have been driven by add-on purchases by existing members.
The guide suggested that the June 2 price increase won't be the last increase for the BCV.
There are still some use years available at VWL- call for details.
DVC/MS is the largest booking agent for the DCL. DVC member's point reservations would have filled 8.5 cruises last year.
I had the pleasure of meeting iluvdisney and her husband this morning at the meeting. They reported that they had an up-close-and-personal encounter with a bobcat outside building 11 this morning. The animal was just as frightened as they were and no one was hurt. There were some OKW CM's also investigating the large cat- who apparently lives nearby.
Off to Epcot!...
