question for any DVC member.... when it comes to disney vacation club I am new and wanted to ask a question since member services is gone for the night. The question goes as follows: I love ebay so recently checking for all things Disney Vacation Club, I stumbled upon someone auctioning off a week at Old Key West Resort. I noticed this and thought okay, that is until I saw the $95 fee to be paid to the resort directly. He/She explained it is for when you book a Disney vacation club outside of your home resort. I know there is a fee similar for booking a cruise or going outside of the Disney Vacation Club Villas like RCI, but is what I am being told TRUE? I am a Saratoga Springs owner and just booked at stay at Bay Lake for the spring and nothing was mentioned about added fees. I know about the extened booking times either 11 months home or 7 months elsewhere but a $95 fee for switching from your home resort. Can anyone explain or help here please. Thank you.

All I can think of is that they have another timeshare with RCI and traded in for a week at OKW. They would pay the $95 fee.

That is not true, you do not pay the $95 fee for a DVC resort, no matter what your resort is. The $95 fee is for DCL, ABD, other Disney resorts not part of DVC, and RCI bookings.

From what I've read that is likely a person auctioning a DVC reservation they obtained through RCI as they would have to pay the $95 fee.

In bound RCI exchanges also pay a $95 fee to the resort. This eBay listing sounds like it my be someone trying to rent an RCI exchange which is forbidden and if discovered will be canceled.

There is a $95 fee if you use points to book through Disney Collection. There is no fee to book within DVC. Not sure what the scam is that you saw.

As noted, this is someone renting out an exchange. It's in violation of RCI's rules and thus has risk, esp if gotten through a public forum like ebay.

The $95 inbound fee indicates that this is an RCI booking that someone made. Meaning that they do not own DVC, but another timeshare and traded in using RCI. Selling RCI trades is forbidden under RCI rules, and I would not chance renting such a reservation. As erionm said, such booking maybe cancelled out from under the renter and they could be out the $$.

Thank you all for your comments. I just wanted to make sure that I understood my DVC contract. I appreciate you all taking the time to clarify. I appreciate your help here. THANK you so much!
