DVC Member Fantasy Cruise Offer

If its a closed loop cruise (beginning and ending in the U.S., which all the Fantasy ones are) you would be fine with a driver's license/state ID. Many recommend passports/a passport card as well, on the off chance of an illness or getting left behind on a port and having to fly home.

A driver's license/state ID is NOT sufficient. Even on a closed look sailing you would need at least a valid, certified, birth certificate.

I'd hate to see someone take the offer only to get turned away at port because they were given incorrect information.

I also got the email and can also not go. It's a nice deal though for those who can. A bit surprised they are having trouble filling these cruises..wonder what the deal is with that? Economy not as rosy as some would like us to believe...cruises priced too high...too much Disney influx into the cruise world??
I'm guessing that the Costa Concordia also had something to do with scaring people away from cruising a bit, just like nobody wanted to fly after 9/11.

Apologies, I thought the birth certificate was optional; I've had a passport my whole life but I've read on a closed loop cruise there was another option. :worship::worship: I'd hate to see someone book a cruise without verifying with either DCL or their TA what the requirements were before booking. Original post amended.

First time seeing this from DCL, but I get weekly emails from Princess, Holland America, NCL and Oceania with deals all year round.

Iger was on CNBC yesterday after earnings and was asked about pricing power about parks/resorts(didn't talk DCL). While spending per guest is up along with bookings Iger said they have to be careful on much they push on increases.

Perhaps DCL pushed a little too much with 2 new ships.

I read that DCL averages a 90% booking rate. Sailing a ship that isn't filled to capacity costs money. Maybe they are taking steps to increase last minute bookings.

I called last night and was on hold for about ten minutes. For my family of four--two kids ages 17 and 14--the total price was $4570.88 for the June 23rd sailing. We could choose between a 4a to a 7a (I think), but the price was the same for all the categories, so we did the 4a. We didn't actually end up booking because we just did Maui for spring break, but I still can't stop thinking about it. :rotfl2: the price without the discount was $11,600, so it was so tempting. I just need it to sell out quickly! :worship:

So those of you booked with cash got the discount. What about DVC members booked with points? Did they get any kind of last minute discount on the June cruises?

The offer that I received was cash only.

Inkman, The email was specific that you couldn't use points and if you already had a booking on one of the sailings that you could NOT have booked through member services. HTH

We were able to take advantage of this offer and just can't wait to go!! We've always wanted to try out a Disney cruise and this offer was just too good to pass up :goodvibes

Only bad thing is that most of the excursion/activities we wanted to try are booked up already, hopefully they are freed up closer to the cruise.

We just booked this morning.

We able to get 2 connecting 4 A (!!!) rooms on the June 23 cruise and Dreams Unlimited put in the on board credit!!

Did you call to book yourself or did you email DU to call on behalf of you ? Just curious about the procedure because I thought you have to book this direct with Disney.
Did you receive the full OBC from DU ?

Also would like to know! Did you call DCL directly to book? How did you get the DU credit?? :) DU tells me that if the offer requires payment in full and you call DCL directly, it cannot then be transferred to an agency...
