I apologize in advance if I posted this in the wrong place; not sure if it should be in cruise section or DVC section.

?Anyone familiar with this offer:

Ahoy Members,

The pixie dust has barely settled on the brand new Disney Fantasy, and our friends at Disney
Cruise Line are excited to introduce her to Disney Vacation Club Members.

Members are invited to take advantage of a very special discount offer to experience all that the
majestic Disney Fantasy has to offer, from all-new musical stage shows like Disney Wishes to
fun-in-the-sun water play areas like AquaLab and the first water coaster at sea, AquaDuck.

For just $157 per person, per night, Members can book a verandah stateroom of their choice
on select 7-Night Caribbean sailings aboard the Disney Fantasy in June, 2012.
(Total voyage fare is $1099 per person).

This unique offer is only available for sailings in June

I just received the same email. I'm surprised they are offering a discount.

I personally think they are having trouble selling the new boats with the higher pricing. They have been offering Florida Resident Discounts on these cruises for the last month.

Disney doesn't offer a deal unless they have to. They have to sale with a full ship or they don't make any money. Personally I don't care for the larger ships, makes me feel like I am in a heard of cattle.

Bigger isn't always better.

:earsboy: Bill

Just got this email as well.

Made me wonder if cruising is a spur of the moment decision, since the sailings under this offer start in about 3 weeks.

Has anyone called about this? I did just to see what the details were but was on hold for over 20 minutes and finally hung up. Is the pricing the same for children?

What a joke, a discount for a cruise that's 3-4 weeks away because we can all get up and go on a week long cruise at the drop of a hat.

If I didn't already have a DVC room booked over the first weekend in June and a more "cancellable" reservation instead, I probably could.

Same here. We already have our vacation plans set this year....now if they have the same deal for next year....:rolleyes1

If it was for next year if would be a legit offer. This is a last ditch effort to fill rooms disguised as a "very special members only discount". I wouldn't have a problem if they called it what it is, and if the email was for a "last minute special price", but to make this sound like some sort of member kickback is a bit patronizing for my blood.

I don't see why you would consider it patronizing...we often get travel and flight offers from various companies with "special Canadian resident-only discounts for last minute travel...I don't get offended when I get them or if I can't take advantage of them.

I can't jump on the deal (this time), but I'm sure there are plenty of others who can and will! :thumbsup2

To be fair, this price is less than the VGT prices they have been offering to the general public for last-minute sailing discounts.

This rate is also less than reported opening day pricing. Members who are already booked on these cruises can re-book and get $$ back in the form of OBC, which is a nice perk.

They're just trying to fill the ship, and have been having IGT, OGT, and VGT, military sales for the Fantasy sailings ... this offer may open up to the public later but its nice that they're offering it to members first, since it is a good deal for those than can afford extra time off with a month's notice ...

I won't book it since the airfare would be more than the cruise fare for me, but if it sells well, and in the future they decide to offer less-than-opening-day prices for West Coast cruises that weren't full at the last minute, I'd definitely consider it.

We'd seriously consider it if DW wasn't dieting for a bodybuilding contest in July (that level of dieting and a cruise wouldn't go together very well).

I could sense if I encouraged her enough though that she'd skip out on the contest and take the cruise.

Heck, we still haven't received the email from DVC, I'm just finding everything here on the boards!! :lmao:

I didn't get my email til I got home tonight. I'm curious as to what the pricing is for 3rd and 4th as well. Also does anyone know if you have to have a passport for this(I'm thinking yes, can u tell we haven't traveled much outside of dvc:lmao:)

Hi All,

I waited for 50 minutes (even though it said a wait of 15 minutes ha!) and found out some information. For 2 adults and 1 child the total price would be $3,452.86. It is nonrefundable and you can not cancel it. It is for a 5A stateroom.

She also said you can not combine this with the $50 on board credit if you use your Disney Visa.

Hope this helps!

Question - did you have your pick of stateroom category - or is it what ever they have available?
