I can't find the special number or web address for DVC member Disney Visa cards. Does anyone have it available. I don't know if we even get it anymore. It used to be on the old Vacation Club web-site but the new one is so hodge-podge I cant find anything

Thanks for any help

Judy

Hmmmm....

I didn't know that there was a special website for DVC members who got the Disney Visa card, only that they printed "Disney Vacation Club" on the card.

Anyway, the regular Disney Visa website is www.bankone.com/disney

Here's the phone number and code from the spring issue of Vacation Magic:

"To apply for Disney's Visa Card, call (800) 738-2617 and provide code 6SM229 to receive your gift and have "Disney Vacation Club" embossed on your card."

(The gift is a copy of The Disney Treasures by Robert Tieman.)

I was expecting better.....

Where your name is stamped, right under it Disney Vacation Club is stamped just like your name...... totally lame!

I love the card! I use it for everything. I got it when we bought at SSR in November and we have 146 Disney Dollars to use already. I've projected it out and we will have about 300 total for our December trip!!

I use ours for my business expenses and had $300.00 for our just completed cruise!! It works for us!
Now we're spending (oops! saving!) for our Oct. trip!

We have almost earned $200 for our upcoming trip. I have tried a lot of cards, and have never been completely satisfied. I was a big GM Card fan, but got tired of having to narrow my new car searches to their brands. A new MilesOne card I got was a nightmare trying to redeem miles. I plan on cancelling soon.

Does anyone know if the Visa card with Vacation Club Member stamped on it is enough proof to earn dicounts at applicable restaurants in WDW?

DH and I have the disney branded visa and I have found it to be somewhat disappointing. The 1% disney dollars is a nice perk but not terribly competitive for what is available through other companies. When we applied the marketing promised special offerings for disney visa cardholders. There are a few offers out currently but they aren't great. The best offer this summer went to new applicants- the pay 4 stay 7 offer- that was not offered to current cardholders. Not compatible with the original presentation of special offers to cardholders. Current cardholders are eligible for the pay 5 stay 7 available to the general public. The difference is 25 disney dollars at check in. An extra night to new business versus 25 disney dollars to current customers says we are not so very special.....:(

Likely not, but if you are a member, you will either have "DVC Member" on your room key, or can present your blue member card. Either of those should entitle you to the applicable discount, whether you pay with the credit card or charge it to your room.

Actually, if you were a new card member and booked the 4 for 7 deal, you got 100 disney dollars. (I know this because a friend of mine booked it)

So the current offer for existing members is not very good in comparison at all.

That said, I love my disney visa. I have never had a reward card before, so just getting something back is great. I charge everything on it (and pay off at the end of each month) and I am rolling in the disney reward dollars!!:teeth:

Cash is better then disney dollars.
Discover gives cash, of at least 1% (more for specific things).

I got NOTHING when I applied for my Disney Visa, and I have NEVER used it.

When I do run into that rare merchant that doesn't take Discover, I never have my Disney Visa with me, so it doesn't get used.
It does not add enough value to make it worth carrying around and worrying about paying an additional bill.
So I end up using my bank card (which is worth the trouble to carry because I use it to access cash in my bank account).

If I don't find a use for my Disney Visa, such as some discount making it worth using, by the end of the year, I will cancel it.

If the balance is paid off every month, then the Disney Visa card is great. But if there is a monthly balance on the card, the 10.9% APR is too high. There are a lot better deals out there.

If you plan to go to Disney anyway, cash and Disney Rewards are equivalent.
There are any number of reward cards that offer 1% return. Ones that offer more are less common. I would rather have a card with good customer service than a slightly higher return.

There is currently a promotion for at least some Disney Visa cardholders where charges above a personalized limit are granted double points (2%). I don't think you can sign up for it; either you've received notice by mail or you haven't. This is a pretty good deal and we are putting all our charges on our Disney Visa until the promotion ends to take advantage of it.

Hi!

I was thinking about this, as I'm ready to write DVC a check for my balance on my SSR purchase. I've read the fine print on BankOne's Disney card agreement in which they stipulate that cash advances and balance transfers do not qualify for the Disney Dollars. Did you tell MS that you want to pay the balance with your Disney Visa in the beginning? We were offered the no interest, etc until June 2004, so that's what we took at the time of sale. My intention was to just pay it off before the 1st day of interest accrued. But if they would take the Disney Visa at this point in time and "swipe it" like a purchase, I'd apply for it right now. Anyone else with similar experiences are certainly welcome to chime in! :D

If a large purchase like a DVC membership, can be purchased with a Disney Visa, and they do not also take Discover, then I might use the Disney Visa.
For a large purchase, it would be worth any hassle involved in having an additional bill to worry about forgetting to pay on time.

I am in complete agreement with eriktheeversowise here, especially on that last point. When delaing with the specially trained BankOne folks who service the Disney Visa customers, there really is a difference. As opposed to the outsourced or completely automated (no way to talk to a real person) "customer service" offered by other cards, the BankOne folks are actually really smart, intuitive and extremely helpful. Even when I come to them with something complicated, they resolve it to my satisfaction. Ever try to resolve a complex problem with your other card companies? I have an issue dating back to 1997 with one card issuer that is still unresolved (gonna go to small claims court unless it is resolved soon).

And supposedly, we're gonna get some of the benefits the old Disney Club had at some point (keeping my fingers crossed). True, the deals aren't great right yet, but so far the superior customer service and "0% for 6 months" deals have been just fine with me.

Although we didn't have a Disney Visa Card at the time we purchased our BCV points, we paid off our balance with another Visa card that gives 1% cash back so you can definitely use a credit card to pay off the balance and get your Disney Dollars or miles or cash back (depending on the card).

What if you already have the card from Day 1 and want it stamped DVC Member. How do you get that done?

I just assumed you could have one or the other, so I'm interested if anyone knows of having both on your card.
