I am currently a DVC Member and was wondering if there is any difference in the DVC Member Discount and the Annual Pass Holder Discount. I currently do no have the Annual Pass but was thinking about purchasing one if the discount is any better than the DVC discounts.

Thanks :)

There are differences in the two discounts. One is not always better than the other. You'll need to check both lists. For DVC, you'll find the discounts posted on the member site.

I would never recommend buying an annual pass based solely upon the discounts. Buy it if the number of park days you will spend in the parks over the course of a year make it economical.

That being said, there are different perks availableto AP holders that aren't available to non-AP holding DVC Members.

For instance, seasonal room discounts at regular WDW (non-DVC) resorts..and AP disocunts can be better than the DVC discount for cash nights at DVC resorts...that depends upon season and discount availability.

AP holders can buy the Disney Dining Experience Card for 20% off at almost all Disney ower table service and buffet restaurants, as well as adult beverages. DVC owners can not get the DDE card unless they are also an AP holder or a FL resident.

Many if the non-DDE dining discounts are the same for AP and DVC, sometimes AP discounts are better, sometimes DVC discounts are better...it varies.

AP Holders get some shopping discounts that DVC owners don't get, like 10% at World of Disney (minimum purchase required)

I can't find the discounts could you point me in the right direction as to where they are in the member site , thanks

We are staying next month at SSR on a CRO AP discount rate. The AP discount is $50 per night cheaper than the DVC cash discount. I read a thread this last week that talked about a discount comparison chart. Now I cant find it. Anyone have the link for our OP? :surfweb:

I've found that the AP rates for studios are usually better than the DVC member rate. 1 bedrooms & larger, the 25% off is usually more.

what do you have to do to become an AP holder

AP is Annual Pass. It provides park admission and some discounts. It is a better value than regular admission if you travel to WDW a couple of times within a year. DVC members receive a $100 discount on a AP purchase.
