Calling folks who went on this cruise, any chance someone plans to write a trip report or just post some of the highlights/photos taken during the cruise. I would love to hear about what makes it different from a regular cruise.

Many thanks!
Kate

I know bobbiwoz was on the member cruise. She said they got to see a showing of Christopher Robin! And it doesn't even release until Aug. 3rd I believe. I saw a video showing a little of the atrium party where they introduced some of the special guests. I know they had someone from Pixar, and the voices of Goofy and Mickey, among others.

I know the members get really cool gifts in their staterooms every day, many that will only be available during the sailing. Roy Disney was on a few of the member cruises before his passing a number of years ago, and I know Don "Ducky" Williams has been on several member cruises. They usually have some Broadway singers perform from Disney Broadway shows, and tons of other great stuff!! Bobbiwoz and others will have a LOT more details than me. :cutie:

My thoughts as we came off the ship this morning.

We are off the ship and Tom and I are wearing the Christopher Robin tees we got commemorating the advance showing we had!:thumbsup2

You may notice my avatar is Winnie the Pooh, and he definitely was the hero in this movie! Bring tissues if you are of the sort who MAY need them because you will!

I think the major difference between regular DCL and MC is the amount of activities on board. You are paying for the extra DISNEY experience like behind the scenes going on as they make Zootopia, Ralph and the Internet. Last year they showed us rough drafts of the new Ralph movie, this time there was a roughly 45 minute presentation about the movie with clips from the unfinished movie.

A Disney relative talked about Growing up Disney. Missed that one.

Broadway singers...

Stuff.

Special fireworks mickeys
90Th birthday party!:cake::bday: Yes, an early celebration, date is November 18!

I sure hope others chime in, we are traveling today.

There was more, a lot. I have to think.

Regarding the gifts, does each room get the gift, or does each person in the room get the gift?

Each person in general. There have been exceptions. The anniversary CD of Beauty and Beast a few years ago, one per cabin. When they included a free picture it was one per cabin.

Generally, each person gets a gift. Although the pins and hats are great, some things were rather large. On our Member cruise, they gave 4 rather large DVC board game. We left 2 on the ship because we couldn't fit it in our suitcase. So make sure you leave lots of room for gifts. :-)

We are on the Oct 2019 DVC member cruise and a few people we are sailing with were on this most recent cruise so they were kind enough to post photos in our FB group of all the goodies and the navigators....woohoo!

There were three presentations in the atrium. All were well received from what I saw. I only went to one because I wanted to see Incredibles 2! I attended the Artists presentation!

I haven’t been able to find the Facebook group for the October 2019 member cruise. What am I doing wrong?

:)
Would it be a bad idea to do a DVC member cruise as our first DCL cruise? It sounds like a lot of fun, but I wonder if we’d be disappointed with a regular Disney cruise afterwards!
I honestly do not think a MC will spoil you for a regular DCL Cruise. My cousin took her first cruise EVER on the DVC cruise to Alaska. She has since decide that she loves to cruise. She will be going to Hawaii with us on RCCL in September.
JMO of course!:)

I'm not sure? If you search DVC member cruise Bermuda it should come up for you under groups. Disboard rules prevent me from putting the direct link in this post.

Some of the gifts are one per person, others one per adult. This cruise we pretty much had gifts twice a day.

I may do a trip report, but then I’ve said this the last 3 trips I’ve taken so we will see what happens once I’m home.
On this cruise we had presentations by Roy Disney, Jared Bush, chef Art Smith, Pete Docter, and Michael Giacchino to name a few. Bill Farmer was also on board. It was an amazing cruise.
