How do you find out the different pricing schedules for this???

DH and I are interested but we do not wish to use our DVC points, just cash.

Any light you can shed on this for two cruising newbies???

Thanks!! :earsboy: ::MinnieMo

Nothing other than the departure date has been announced yet. Keep an eye on your mailbox and on the boards - DVC will let us know. They did last time.

Based on how they did the last member cruise, MS will probably take reservations for this (and only this) on a Saturday.

Best wishes -

Here is the pricing information (per person) for the 2005 Member Cruise:

Cat 12 90 pts $688
Cat 11 90 pts $688
Cat 10 115 pts $782
Cat 9 123 pts $834
Cat 8 139 pts $938
Cat 7 150 pts $1,000
Cat 6 158 pts $1,058
Cat 5 166 pts $1,110
Cat 4 200 pts $1,318
Cat 3 341 pts $2,217

Additional passengers over 13 = 68 pts $458
ages (3-12) = 57 pts $406
ages 2 and under = 20 pts $196

MS waived the $75 fee with the initial booking and points or cash were due in full at the time of booking.

You may want to use this information as a guide but I'm sure the pricing will be more than this year. Annmarie

What is the exact departure date?

I spoke to some Cruise people last weekend when I stayed at SSR. They said the cruise sells out the FIRST day by 1 PM.

I believe the departure date is October 22, 2006. Last year it did sell out very fast. Best of luck if you are planning to call in on December 3. Annmarie

From recent posts, it appears that the policy may be that at least one person per cabin must be traveling on DVC points.

Do you think it could be the 3rd or 4th person? I would sooner pay cash and rent out my points to get it as I could do it without a lot of borrowing etc that way.

No - you will have to pay points at the adult rate for the 1st person in the cabin. You can pay cash for the rest of the occupants in that same cabin, though.

Best wishe s-

Is this a change since last year we paid cash only, no points were used, and where is this new information coming from?

:confused3 You need @ least 1 Adult on points & the rest payable @ time of res?

Question as to allowable points...are they restricted to points available in my account on December 3rd or do they follow the normal banking/borrowing system (i.e. what I have available the date of the cruise)?

If I'd cancel - do the points go into Reservation status or back into my account?

As with any DVC reservation, the points must be available at the time of the reservation (thru borrowing/current/banked point status).

If cancelled, the points will be "Reservation" points- meaning they can ONLY be used for non-DVC options. They could NOT be used for a reservation at a DVC resort.

I just happened to see this post. Do we know where the DVC cruise is going? Eastern or Western. How many nights? or we dont know until they announce this?

I'm also wondering where the idea that points must be used for at least one person. We used points, but many didn't. We can't go next year, I'm sad about that.

It was reported on another thread that a member had called MS about the cruise and been informed that this cruise would now require a passenger on points in each cabin.

Do you know which thread that was on?
That would be a chance from the most recent cruise if it's true.

We all know that you can ask 3 different cast members and get 3 different answers. Here's the fine print from the 2005 point chart. I suggest that those wanting to pay cash wait until the new point chart is out and check the fine print.

While admittedly this is all speculative and based on one particular phone call it sounds like, I find the requirement of at least one person per room having to be on points to be a very plausible thing. First, it would somewhat reduce demand for the cruise (which is good given how fast it has sold out in the past). Second, it will off load a lot of points that will have the effect of reducing demand for DVC resort reservations because of the premium point cost of the cruise versus the accomodations that will be given up. We'll see what actually is the case, but this is a rumor I find plausible.

When will we be able to make ressie's for the October 2006 cruise? Any word yet?
