Agree, I absolutely wouldn’t be paying with points! Those rates are crazy.

It's not just the points price... Looks like ~$11.5K in cash for an oceanview room (4 people) in the off-season? That's a lot!

We paid ~$8200 in the not so distant past for a 7-night Alaska cruise in an oceanview room (and got $500+ back from Costco).

P.S. The dates make it a non-starter for us.

DCL prices are quite aggressive... Tough to justify the cost of DCL cruises generally, and especially tough to justify a peak price for an off-peak time of year...

That itinerary is one we very much want to do, and would consider doing so with Disney, but not at that price. Also, I imagine a member cruise would be quite intense as a much higher percentage of people would know all the tricks and secrets to a great DCL experience, and would also have a higher percentage of castaway club members than normal... Also, we don't love "Disney" enough... we just love great vacations and know that Disney provides them.

Also, as nuts as the DVC members cruise price is, the ABD members escape is utter lunacy in my view!
2 nights in London would cost over $13,000 for a family of four! Can't wrap my head around that one....

I don't disagree that DCL prices are high, but I believe for member cruises perhaps DVC will charter the ship from DCL and then DVC sets the prices for the members as it sees fit to pay for the member cruise extra staff/guests and generate a profit too?

If I price an oceanview cabin for 4 for the 7-night DCL Northern Europe trip for September 2025 I get $8500-$8900. On the 7-night Northern Europe DVC member cruise for September 2026 (albeit stops at some different ports) it's about $11,500. The member cruise may have a lot of extra activities/guests (and some "freebies"), but there's also a profit element that DVC has to earn over the cost of chartering the ship from DCL (assuming that's how it works).

We cruise DCL a lot... about once a month and the Dream is a favorite having been on it 5 times in the last year. For those reasons alone we're interested in the member cruise next year. We like the 1bdrm suite but the points cost for this member cruise is just absurd - I wonder if it's worse than the usual exchange? The cash prices though seem about right considering the location and time of year. Not leaning into doing that at this point. May revisit though!

We are currently booked on the 2025 Member cruise which will be our first - kids are still school age and even though they start late - it's not late enough! Maybe after they are out of the house though ...

I wish we were going! I've been dying to do a Member Cruise (we've only done First Waves so far). I would have jumped on the member cruise this year (2025) as it would normally have been perfect for us, but we were already booked for the Fantasy to Norway in August and my husband might have murdered me if I suggested we do the Member Cruise, then hop on a plane to the UK, and then done the Norway cruise. ;-)

Which brings us to the two reasons we aren't doing the 2026 Member Cruise:
1. We are going to Norway on the Disney Cruise this year
2. Our youngest is off to college, and it falls over his move-in day and there's no way we're missing that

Instead, we're booked on the 2026 First Wave River Cruise on the Rhone, and added on the Paris Escape pre-stay.

We are doing a Viking River Cruise in August 2026 instead and it is much less than the Member Cruise!

We've already done a couple of Member Cruises and have enjoyed them, but not enough to give up my Chateauneuf-du-Pape as I'm cruising through the Avignon area :)

Disboarders are overwhelmingly a ‘no’! Maybe booking it tomorrow will be a walk in the park?

Here's hoping. I'm ready to book. Mitigating the price by doing Oceanview for the first time. We went on the Mediterranean DVC Member Cruise last year and found that we were hardly ever in the room because there were so many activities going on. Can't do inside because we do need some sunshine to get up in the morning, so OV.

Booking today too for me and DH only - enjoyed the Med cruise last year and will be on the summer cruise with our teen+ kids (we are calling it our last family vacation ever!)
DH and sons took a N European cruise a few years ago but I couldn't go due to work obligations. Hoping this will be an easy booking? We have an event later today!
