What did management do for you?
When we stayed at OKW for DHs 40th birthday, we had issues with soaking (and I mean soaking) wet carpeting - our assumption was a leak from the AC unit. I called the front desk and they couldn't move me (full house for Food & Wine), so they credited me $$$. Not much, but something, and offered to move me the next day. Because we were there for only 3 nights, I asked if they could just extract the carpets as we would be out of the room all day. When we got back, the entire 2BR unit had soaking wet carpeting - they cleaned the carpets, not extracted them. Because we were on points, they gave us a monetary credit on our account equal to one night's rack rate in addition to the $$$ from the night before.

REALLY?! If this was indeed the condition of the room, then we are all still waiting to hear from OP about any compensation that you received for these unacceptable oversights.

I can't honestly grasp how a room could be in that bad of shape and that they allow someone to stay in it. It sounds like the room was neglected for a long time, not cleaned after guests departed, etc. for weeks.
). Without the photos, the description of how bad the room was doesn't carry any weight, IMHO.
