DVC just discovered this site for Renting!

I just discovered this site. I've been a DVC member since 92 and never knew that I could rent my points. I am one of the members who has lost points in the past, but I now feel fortunate to have discovered this site! I would like to rent points but need some guidance from other members who are experts at this. Does anyone have advice or a contract sample that I could view? I am ready to rent those points.

The rental contract does not need to be anything fancy. A simple description of what is expected of each party is sufficient. It can state the dates, resort and room type, the cost of the rental and can include any cancellation or refund policy for the transaction. It could also stipulate the payment schedule and cover things like the reservation being made in the name of the renter and that the printed confirmation will be sent to the renter. It should also allow for an agreement that the renter will abide by all rules/regulations of the resort and DVC.

Some may have a sample of such a contract that they will be willing to share, but I wouldn't get hung up in the details.

Welcome to the Dis! I have rented points before, and it is quite easy. Remember that it takes more trust on the part of the rentee than it does from us. Just be careful about renting points that are very close to their arrival date, since a cancellation will put your points into holding, and thus are less valuable. Also, be sure and let everyone know in advance that you are firm on cost(it's easier that way), and your schedule of payments. You might also consider joining Paypal to receive money. There is a small charge, I think it's about $2.50 per $100, but it's well worth it!
