Just wondering who thinks they will buy into the DVC in Hawaii? Why or why not?

We won't be buying there. For us Disney is all about Walt Disney World. If I'm traveling to Hawaii or any other location for that matter, it's not important for me to stay at a Disney property, but I would certainly consider it as an option (but not to own). We own DVC so we can go to WDW.

No Chance! Love Hawaii but MF's are going to be insane IMHO, may make VB look cheap!. I will be happy to poach at the 7 month window, though!

I'll be a 7mth window person as well. Too far away to visit even every 3 years. Would love to stay once for sure.

We visited Hawaii last year it was so beautiful I would love to go back. But I am a Disney junkie. Right now we own in Beach Club and Saratoga. Not sure about buying in Hawaii. I like the 7 month window idea too.

no way would I buy there. I could most likely get 1 1/2 times more pts at BWV for the price they will want for Hawaii:lmao:

It all depends on the price. I could definitely see buying in Hawaii for the 11 month advantage, and then planning a trip every three years. One of the sales pitch lines when we bought was that DVC basically "forced" you to vacation. I like the idea of being forced to Hawaii more often!

Not sure if everye is right that the MF's will be so high. Every one was also saying that about KT and from what has been posted they are not anywhere near as high as people were thinking.:confused3

Then I will be pleasantly surprised...but since a studio apt in Hawaii that is not beachfront can rent $4000 US a month...I won't hold my breath.
But we can dream... I haven't seen any estimates of MF like KTV yet.

We don't plan on buying there. Hoping to get in at 7 months as we would like to add on a few land days to a Hawaii cruise.

It's too far from Michigan to go on frequent trips. We went to Hawaii last year and while I would love to return someday, I have many more places on my list that I want to see before I head back to Hawaii.

I personally apologize for assisting in one of the most depressing, negative threads ever. I sure hope someone buys it so they can at least build it! Could this be an ill omen to DVC's plan to "sprawl out" to more and more sites?
Anyone?...Anyone?

We will not buy Hawaii, we live on the east coast and traveling to Hawaii every year is just too much. Plus we are Westin owners and they have three resorts in Hawaii, and have two more going to be buillt. I think the true DVC hawaii market is those who live on the west coast and Japan.

Now a caribbean resort might be a whole different story.

You need more west coasters to respond and you will probably have a more takers. It is just too expensive to fly for us "east of the Mississippiers."

Like others though, we hope to go there at least once - at the 7 mo. mark, of course!

Bob, were you watching Ferris Bueller this morning on AMC? :happytv:

I think it will be an attractive add on for us West Coasters who plan to buy at GCV. The problem will be that, given the current plan for only 50 GCV units, it's going to be difficult for those purchasing Hawaii (west coasters) to book their nearest Disney Park resort at the 7mo mark... Imagine if VB and HHI were larger than all the WDW DVC resorts....

They will have to expand at DL or will have many unhappy Hawaii owners....

We live in NC and we will be buying a small contract to use to bank and borrow to do a every three years trip. We had planned to buy Marriott and now instead will buy Hawaii. I hope they open one in the Virgin Islands too - it would be perfect for us.

No way!! Plane ride is soooooo long and expensive from NJ. We went for our honeymoon and hope to go back for our 10yr anniversary next year either by using our points or trading points with a lovely fellow disser:) Hawaii twice in 10 years is plenty IMO.
