Planning a golf trip with the guys in october.... anyone aware of the conditions of the courses?

How about the DVC membership benefits?

and last is there anywhere that shows the layout of the courses, like you would find on the score cards?

I'm not a golfer, but I do know that the Funai Classic is played on the Palm and Magnolia courses every October, so you may want to find the dates before you make any plans. If you want to see it, then you can go that week, but if you want to actually play those 2 courses, you'd need to go a different week! Have a good time!

There is a golf membership for that is 50.00 for dvc members.Its good for 1 yr.I think it is 75.00 for non DCV. From now until dec 31 you also get free club and shoe rentals.The cost of a round of golf depends on the time of day.I also think the other 3 golfers in your group get the same rate. Join when you get there so you will have 1 yr from then. I have a 10:00 tee time for Oct 11 and its 50.00 to play LBV.I will be staying at SSR so i can just walk up and play. Not a bad deal if you can use it more than once and i will.

I was just there a week ago and played LBV and Osprey Ridge, I thought that they were in OK condition. Magnolia was closed but should be open by Oct.
I believe the tournament is the 20th to 23rd so the Palm and Magnolia will be off limits from the 17th to the 23rd at least. You can call 407-WDW-GOLF to confirm.
The summer rates end 9/30/05 which was $35.00 after 10am, beginning 10/1 is peak season the DVC rate is $89.00 for any course if you have a DVC Golf Membership which costs $50.00 and is good for 1 year. Again you must play after 10am. The discount is good for yourself and up to 3 additional players.

Palm was in Relatively good shape, but was very wet because of a lot of Rain. It was a beautiful course and the Rough was very challenging. I lost 3 balls in the rough and saw exactly where the ball entered. Unless you hit it straight of the tee every time bring a few extra balls. There is also quite a bit of water. For as much as these courses are played I thought the greens were in fairly good condition. The fairways were nice. I was paired with a DVC member and he played for $10 less than what I payed. I am not sure if he purchased something ahead of time or if that is one of the benefits of DVC. The WDW Golf website has all the layouts and a fly through. You can also book Tee-Times. I would definitely encourage you to play Palm if you want a challenge and nice scenery.

We played at LBV and Eagle Pines in August and the courses were in excellent shape. The Magnolia was closed and we were told it would not reopen to the public until after the Classic. If you have an AP, or are thinking about getting one, check out the discounts because depending on the time of year and the time of day you plan to play sometimes the rates can be better than DVC. Also print out the rates shown on the Disney website because we have twice been given higher rates on site but they've honored the ones from the website when we produced the printout.

I know that the Palm is being overseeded in November, but I don't know if that has any impact on November play. It owuld be my guess that Magnolia is too.

I am still looking for an overview of the course. I did find the DW site great, but I was looking to print out a layout of the courses.

I have sched tee times online, and worked out great.

On WDWGolf.com you can find a layout. I must be losing my mind, because I just golfed there 2 weeks ago and I found the layout and flythroughs for every course. I thought it was on the same site you make tee times. Anyway this website who is sponsored by some guy named Marc has tons of info that might be helpful and if I remember where I saw all that other stuff I will let you know.

I would call the specific pro shop that you want to play and make sure they don't have recent fairways or greens plugged. Fall is the time of year the courses usually schedule this. We played two years ago at Osprey Ridge and they had plugged the greens the day before. Bad greens and our green fees weren't discounted for their condition.

We have the DVC golf membership and DD and I plan to use it in December. We're not taking clubs on the plane and will take advantage of the free rental.
