DVC Gold AP.

Has anyone who canceled or expired during the AP 2020/21 debacle successfully been call back by the “special” department offering to let them buy the Gold AP? Did anyone have an issue getting a pass for a child who wasn’t 3 last year but is 3 now or will be 3 by your next trip?
Many reports of success on this thread - also on the thread you just posted on - about both.

Thanks - I just received a call and was told no for my child who is going to be 3 very soon. I was wondering if this was normal?
Well, hopefully someone who has had recent success purchasing for a 3 year old will respond. I can only remember reading posts from people whose child turned 3 during the closure/cancellation period, and they were allowed to buy for the 3 year old when buying for the family. They may have changed the policy recently - I hope not! Did you talk to DVC MS or to the Passholder folks? The VIPassholder group seems to be able to do more than DVC MS can. Check THIS LINK to the AP webpage - scroll down for options to call, email or chat with them.

Our daughter is 2 and will be turning 3 shortly before our next trip this fall. There was no issue getting a Gold AP for her along with the rest of us who previously had APs that we canceled, so we were able to make park reservations for everyone. Maybe try again? I did this through the AP line and not MS.

It was the line you call for AP and they request a “special dept” to call you back in 2 weeks. It just didn’t make sense going by what I have read and heard.

Having to wait for a callback has been normal procedure. Someone other than the people who answer the phone is tasked with evaluating your specific situation to determine whether you’re eligible to buy renewal or new APs or add your soon to be 3 year old. It’s good they told you 2 weeks - people have been waiting 30+ days! Read the last few pages of the thread I linked earlier for reassurance. pixiedust:

Thanks, I have been reading and keeping pretty up to date so, I definitely expected to wait for a call back. It might be random or, they may have called us sooner because we have an August reservation. Either way, my issue isn’t that we had to wait for a call back or the timeline of the callback. It’s about not being able to get a pass for our daughter who will be 3 by the time our trip happens. Especially given how many people have noted being able to secure a pass for newly turning 3 year olds. The CM kept reiterating that they aren’t selling to the general public and since she didn’t have a pass before, and isn’t 3 as if today’s date, we could not get one for her.

I think I might just try again as you suggested. Honestly, you’d think they would want to sell us 4 passes at $750 each than none at all. I had credit card in hand ready to go then had to say no thanks.

It’s entirely possible that the CM who calls you back will have a different answer - they seem to have more knowledge, not to mention authority, when it comes to determining whether you can replace your old APs and buy new for your daughter. I’ve read too many posts from people who were in the situation you are, and if they were approved to buy new or renewal APs for the family members who had them already, they were also allowed to buy for the children who had just turned three. So there’s still hope!
