DVC for handicap access

A shower chair and transfer bench are two different things. It all comes down to width. Transfer benchs are as wide as two seats and allow you to place two legs of the bench outside the tub and two inside. If you tried that with a regular shower chair the seat would be over the tub edge. Might as well turn the shower head to spray out into the middle of the bathroom floor.

MS might have a transfer bench on loan.
I was going to post this, but you beat me to it.
Special Services should be able to help you. There is some information about handicapped accessible rooms on the disABILITIES FAQs thread near the top of the disABILITIES Board (including a phone number for Special Reservatiions). If they don't have what you need, there are some medical equipment companies listed in that thread (under wheelchair and ECV rental information) that you could rent one from.

Oh I know Sue. I keep an eye on the disABILITIES forum quite a lot. It was those other companies I was thinking of for renting.

Like I said, it's more a matter of me wanting the best possible stay for my first trip to DVC that's keeping me in that 1 bedroom at Saratoga. We have the points to spare at the moment.

Yet at the same time I'm learning how to work my Marriott and Disney systems. We had already made Marriott ressies for Cypress Harbour Nov 30 - Dec 7 (Thursday to Thursday). In future, we'll keep our Marriott weeks to Sunday to Sunday and then use fewer points to extend the trip to Disney. Since Marriott is so easy getting accessible accomodations up to a month before (they guarantee them 30 days before and assign rooms at check-in), I may be making my DVC ressies first and building Marriott around that.
