This is probably a question that has already been asked but I cannot find it on the board.
I have just spoken to the DVC sales person about arranging a tour when we are in WDW in December 07 and was told that if we want to take advantage of the incentive that will be on offer at the time we will have to sign up within 3 days of returning. He also seemed to imply that if we did not decide within this time we would only be eligible for an incentive if we go back out and do the tour again. What I do not understand is the implication that if I do not do the tour I can get the incentive (what ever is the current) whenever I want. Is this really the case?

Please help out a confused Englishman :confused3

The DVC Guide is correct that you will have a small window of opportunity to take advantage of the incentive offered during your initial tour. Here is a Thread for you to review on this very topic. Good luck!

Hi Carol

Thanks for coming back on that so quickly. It is seems do we take the risk of the tour or go for a wonder on our own and have time to think.

How long is your December trip? If it is for a week or so and you decide to do the tour, then I would recommend
\

  1. researching before you go so that you have an idea of the costs and the number of points that you would want
  2. Setup your tour for the beginning of the trip so that you can think about it during the trip.
  3. If you want to look at the models again or ask questions, book a second tour near the end of your trip

For your second tour, you don't need to set it up ahead of time. You can jsut go to any DVC booth and they can arrange it for you.

I used the above method during my May trip. I had already researched DVC before my trip. Then I took the tour on my second day. I spent the rest of the time on my trip thinking about it. Then on the third to last day, I went to a DVC booth to arrange an appointment for the next day. On my second to last day, I went to DVC again, looked at the models and then signed the paperwork.
