DVC discount vs all ears discount

What would it cost for us to be treated a swell as randowm web surfers?
Nothing. Book under the AllEars discount. Boom.

Folks: discounts are not used to reward loyalty. They are used to generate NEW BUSINESS. Expecting it to work the other way will only lead to disappointment. If the person setting the tour prices thinks they need to offer e.g. Disney Visa CC holders a better discount to get their business, they will do so.

I guess that could happen.I was thinking of having it to use once during a 5 day stay .
At Univeral the room key is a de facto all day lenth of fast pass.Anyone staying a on site hotel goes right to the front of line. There must be thousands of people at the hotels on any given day plus add in the people who pay extra for a similar pass.

I have not seen anything get over run by hoards waving rooom keys. It is my experience that even at peak time the wait is no more than 5 minutes ten tops for guests.

I may be wrong but I think that the DVC members would have so many diffent plans and options through out the world for this single use item that it is unlikely that we would overrun one ride or attraction.

I am just thinking this would be a nice thing for members to have and believe it would be no cost to Disney.

I don't really expect to get any discounts. While I could think of many discounts that would work for my family, overall, they wouldn't be a benefit to many DVC members.

If they just keep the current AP discount I would be thrilled. I can hunt out any additional discounts, Living Social or Groupon deals etc. on my own time. Don't use member dues for discounts.

The sheer number of DVC rooms at the 7 (soon to be 8) onsite DVC resorts would preclude that. Given that Disney parks see far more visitors per day than Universal, and the Universal has 3 hotels it considers onsite, as opposed to 20+ of Disney, it really isn't workable.

How would giving a one time FP cost us in dues?

Disney "gives" nothing free to DVC, other than some dining discounts. Even for those that receive instant FPs by taking a DVC tour. Those FPs are paid for through DVC marketing. A special FP designed only for onsite DVC members would be paid for by our dues, unless Disney suddenly decided to be very generous or include us in a perk extended to all other onsite guests.

Isn't the FOTL at Universal only for people staying on property or as an added upgrade?

The FP system is available to every WDW guest with a ticket.

The systems are completely different and comparing them would not be an accurate outcome for such a comparison.

I don't understand how a fast pass costs DVC a dime. What is the cost?
Are you talking about the paper it is printed on?
Or is there a cost to DVC if people use it.Not arguing just don't see how there is cost.

There are more DVC resorts then hotels at US.But there are also many more options for guest at WDW then US.

Parks & Resorts and Disney Vacation Club are two separate divisions of The Walt Disney Company. Simply put, DVC doesn't have carte blanche to issue an unlimited number of the instant FASTPASSES.

P&R is compensated by DVC--Disney Vacation Development, to be specific--for the ability to issue the FPs as sales incentives.

And since P&R has millions of guests to consider, they aren't going to allow DVD/DVC to issue hundreds-of-thousands of instant FPs as a member perk. Every instant FP issued means one less available to all other park guests. If 1000 members go to Hollywood Studios and claim instant FPs for Toy Story Mania, that's 1000 fewer FPs available to Disney hotel guests, local pass holders, day guests and all others.

In other words, this is just another example of how Disney is not willing to give extra benefits to DVC members at the expense of all others visiting the parks on any given day.
