DVC Discount in Non-DVC Disney Resorts

Someone mentioned that DVC members could get a room discount at Disney Resorts that do not have DVC buildings attached such as Poly, GF and Contemporary. Is this true and if so how do you make reservations. Has anyone actually done it.

There is no DVC discount for non-DVC room. There are AP room only discounts, general public room only discounts and even AAA room only discounts.

DVC members can sometimes get discounts on DVC villas, but even those are not available all the time. No other lodging discounts for members.
