We have never used the DDP, but my DD and her to-be DH will be staying using points at OKW in October and may be interested. The current pricing for the regular DDP is $45.99 per the brochure on the member site. I know there are a lot of variables, ie free dining, Magic Your Way packages, etc. But are the plans priced differently depending on whether you're DVC or not? Thanks for any explanation.

No difference in the actual plans. DVC members don't pay the seasonal up charge that regular package guests do.

if you are staying using points you will not be eligible for "free dinning" or Magic your way packages with dining..you will have to just purchase the dinning separately. This will allow you to purchase park tix separately if you want somewhere else for a discounted price and then the dinning plan.
There are 3 "tiers" for dinning plans (DDP). (Quick service, regular, deluxe)The prices on the website are what you pay (with the exception of DVC owners do not pay holiday pricing). You must book though MS before you leave for your trip and you pay in full at that time. Basically you are awarded your "dinning credits" at check in when you start the plan. The # of credits and type (Table service (TS) or quick service (QS) and snack) depends on which plan you choose and the number of NIGHTS you are staying. For the regular one (which i am most familiar with) you get 1 TS per night of your stay, 1 QS, and 1 snack for each night you stay (all these points are available to you when you check in). So on the regular plan that you mentioned: if you are staying 4 nights each person will have 4 TS credits, 4 QS credits, 4 snack credits at the time of check in.

You can combine 2 table service credits to eat at a "signature" restaurant such as the brown derby, California grill etc..

For the Quick service plan you are awarded QS credits and snack credits and a refillable mug (used at resort only).

I am not that familiar with the deluxe but I believe you can do many "2 credit" signature restaurants as you want.

There is also a separate wine plan that you can add on.

hope that helps get you started
