DVC DDP question

I know that as DVC members we can add the DDP to our resort reservation up to 3 days prior to arrival. I remember, vaguely, that at one time not too long ago, that you could get the DDP for just a portion of your visit. Was that option taken away? If it was what would be the best route to go if you wanted to get the DDP for just part of your trip?

I'd like to possibly have it for the second half of an upcoming trip but if it requires us to completely check out of our room by 11am (remove all of our stuff, etc.) and then not be able to get a room until some time after 4pm we'll skip it and modify our dining wishes.

You will need to modify your dining wishes.

The only way is to switch room types or resorts and as you say it requires you to check out and not have a room until later.

Well boo! Guess I'll be re-evaluating a few of our planned meals.
